My apologies if this has been discussed before. There is a bid out today for upgrading the video on the scoreboard.
Looks like a $330-450k upgrade depending on what packages are selected and procured.
Cheers!

Hopefully this means we won't have to refer to it as the Microtron any longer.

Where's the money come for this project?

I was thinking the same thing....if the rumors about cutting scholarships in several sports, including the best mens sport at the university by far, are true, I would have an issue with spending 400,000 grand on a video board. If the money is all private donations, then great. I doubt that is the case though.

I would imagine the vast majority of the funds would come from a main sponsor, private donations and scoreboard sign rental income. But that is just my assumption.

I heard GC took the money from widows, orphans, blind people, the make a wish foundation and the baseball and hockey budgets. Then he set fire to a bunny and laughed maniacally...

......and that was after he makes it mandatory for the athletic maintenance crew to wear uniforms (good thing) but screw it all up by making it mandatory that they wear long pants when it is 100 degrees outside. Maybe they could wear a coat and tie when they mow the grass!

Don't you have to score to use it? It should be just about new since last year it wasn't light up very much other than the other team

BM, your inchorenent misspelled ramblings are at least humorous. Perhaps you should just stick to that?

I'd rather them spend some money on a new PA system.

It's good they are finally upgrading. There are high school scoreboards that are light years better than the current one at the Doyt.

Now that would be a welcome expenditure.

I spent some tine in Arizona a few years back...the locals advised wearing long pants and sleeves that were loose fitting...it's easier to stay cool that way...
