Just became a season ticket holder

I lucked out and happened to stop by the Stroh during their "Pick your seat" event, so they were actually open after hours. I got some pretty awesome seats for my wife and I. Section 11, Row 19, seats 1 & 2. That's the 30 yard line, the first two seats above the tunnel. No obstructed views for us! Are we close to anybody on here?

Quite a few of us are in Sect. 13, with most of our seats on or near the 50....so you're not too far away...we'll have to let you know specifics so you can close in on us next year. :D

Well, we wanted to avoid the chairbacks. I'm not a small guy, so the brown seats are just too small, and the orange things aren't comfortable at all. The bench seats in the middle are awefully high, so that's why I went with section 11 (no orange seats).

Makes sense...I was in the same boat a couple years ago when they added the orange chairbacks. I went with staying on the 50 yard line and just moving higher up. I can understand either decision though.

There really aren't any bad seats at the Doyt.

I sit about six rows from the top on the east side on the 50. The only bad thing is the sun in your eyes on certain days. Other than that, I believe it is the Tootsie Roll center of the earth there.

I thought about sitting on the east side, but the setting sun and not being able to hear the band well deterred me. If they did something where the band played to both sides of the stadium, they may get better attendance on the east side.

Brown seats? I missed the memo on that one when did we put in brown seats are where are they? The only seats we have are orange and faded purple.

Its amazing how you notice the color of the seats when no ever is sitting in them except for the "ghost fans" we use to bolster our attendance numbers.

Maybe we're doing that now, but I could swear that for my first three years in BG (2005 thru 2007) we were actually undercounting our attendance, especially in 2005 when the game vs Toledo was damn near sold out and we announced something like 17k.

Damn straight there....NO WAY there was only 17K at that 05 ut game. It had to be 21K+...and it was a great game even though BG lost. I mean, two evenly matched teams that refused to lose in some cold conditions. Just sucked royally for the Orange and Brown to lose a chance to play for the MAC title to the despised scuds.

That was a classic inthe rivalry. Very few UT-BG games have much in the way fo dramaIMO but that one and the big UT comeback in 04, I think, were back to back classics. The Chip Otten fumble game was another. We seem to win the close wins and BG wins in blowouts.
