Punting and the Baby Birds...

Post by Falconfreak90 »

Punter Brian Schmiedebusch averaged 55.8 yards on six punts, including an 81-yard boot that was the second-longest punt in school history. :supz: Give kudos to Brian for an OUTSTANDING debut!! Pinning the Vandals deep a couple times was huge as well....great ST's play by the rest of the unit.

And the Baby Birds...I absolutely love this name for our young but quickly improving secondary. Most of these kids are SO and FR and it gets me thinking about my two fave secondaries of all time. The Killer B's in the early 90's and 2001-2004 with Patton, Newson, Malone and Morton.

This new group has the chance to be every bit as good as those other units.

Special Teams play was amazing...couldn't agree more Freak. The only thing that ticked me off was the missed extra point. Secondary got a lot of good practice yesterday and being as young as they are, they will need all the practice they can get leading up to games in West Virginia and the road MAC games. KEEP IT UP FALCONS!
