Just noticed November 16

I know the notion of the MAC playing mid-week games has vociferous votaries and equally passionate nay-sayers. I tend toward being a middling nay-sayer, i.e., I love being able to see BG play a road game on a Tuesday when, believe it or not, the nightlife in Hamilton is at a nadir, meanwhile I detest the loss of Saturday home games.
That being said, does it make any sense for BG to be hosting Ohio on Wed November 16, at 8 p.m. while Miami is hosting Western Michingan on that same day and time? If we are not guaranteed being the "only game in town" why in the heck are we (and Ohio) playing mid-week versus a fellow MAC duo? Being the only game on TV on a given date may or may not be a benefit. Having to compete with other MAC teams for eyeballs on a Wednesday seems to make no sense.
The only thing I can think of is that the MAC is hedging that two games increases the chances that at least one game will be meaningful for the championship.
Color me not impressed and don't get me started about Ball State having senior day the Friday after Thanksgiving.
Regardless, GO BG!
