Apparently, the Peace Pipe award is being replaced and the existing trophy is going to be permanently housed at UT.

If it's to be housed at Toledo permanently, we should refer to the old trophy as the "douche pipe".

Well, that means that BG at least won the Peace Pipe more times than slUT did. Sad to see the pipe go, I thought it was an awesome trophy...at least this one makes sense.

I know this isn't "PC", but am I the only one that is bothered by people saying we can't use specific names or terms because they are offensive? Pretty soon, every team will be identified by colors, like North Texas or Tulane, because it's offensive to reference animals or historical figures with team names.

The over-sensitivity of today's society is sickening. If something was named after me, or an object that reflected my heritage was used as a homage to something, I would be proud of it. Why for the past 60+ years was this not an issue?

Because the trophy is only 30 years old? :)

The PC/Non-PC debate can go on and on and on so I won't touch it other than to say that sometimes it is thrown out there as the excuse similar to how Title IX gets tossed around.

My two comments- 1. BATTLE OF I-75- c'mon the interstate stretches from Michigan to Florida and we are "battling" over a very small portion of that road. Why not BATTLE OF NORTHWEST OHIO?

2. The Peace Pipe Trophy will be housed in the University of Toledo trophy case because they most recently won the trophy. I think the trophy should be housed in the schools' trophy case that held the advantage in the PP series not based on who won it last.

Now slUT will have another vehicle to smoke dope instead of Amstuz's left over mustard bottles.

Sorry, but that's not true. Toledo won 16 to our 15.

Ah, I was looking at the overall numbers, my mistake.

No biggie. But the creators of this new trophy deserve a giant FAIL! Why not publicize one last game as the final battle for the peace pipe with the winner getting it forever?

And pay no attention to that corporate check behind the curtain.

Excellent idea!

And I have to wonder if the Peace Pipe is not PC enough to continue to be rewarded, than why can it be displayed on a trophy case? If TU gets to keep it, I proposed the name be changed from Peace Pipe to the Toledo Still Sucks Bong.

All you have to do is look who is making the decision!
