Will be great to see Zach back on the field!
Per the Sentinel-Tribune:
Almost one year to the day after suffering a broken leg, Bowling Green’s Zach Akenberger is returning to the football field Saturday against Toledo.
A fifth-year senior, Akenberger suffered a broken tibia and fibula in his right leg during the Temple game on Oct. 16, 2010.
The Bowling Green High School graduate, who was a walk-on to the Falcon football program, has gone through rehabilitation and is going to be part of the kickoff return and kickoff coverage units against the Rockets. He has been a special teams stalwart throughout his BG career.
“On our kickoff team he, in the 40-(yard dash) time, is our slowest guy. But when the ball is kicked off, he’s the first one down there,” BG head coach Dave Clawson said.
