I hope this means he'll be suiting up for us next fall! Per John Wagner's blog:
Givens enrolled at BGSU
Andre Givens, one of the more highly regarded high school running backs in the recruiting class of 2010, is enrolled at Bowling Green.
Givens is a graduate of Hubbard High School who originally signed a national letter of intent with Pittsburgh in 2010. He is enrolled at BG, football SID Dave Meyer confirmed Tuesday, but is not on the roster and does not practice with the team.
Givens was considered one of the top running backs in the state of Ohio during his recruitment. While Givens signed with Pitt, he instead enrolled at Milford Academy in New Berlin, N.Y. He saw limited action with Milford, playing both offense and defense.
As a senior at Hubbard High School in 2009, Givens ran for 925 yards and scored 21 touchdowns despite playing in just nine games after an injury.
He also played outside linebacker and had 35 tackles, three tackles for loss and a sack as a senior. As a result, Givens was named to the All-Northeast Inland All-District team and also was All-Trumbull County and All-American Athletic Conference first team.
In 2009 Givens led Hubbard to a 10-2 record, the American Athletic Conference championship and the regional semifinals of the Ohio Division III playoffs.
The 5-10, 185-pound Givens ran for 2,358 yards over his final two seasons at Hubbard. As a junior, he rushed for 1,433 yards and 18 touchdowns. The Eagles went a combined 26-9 (.743) during his three seasons as a varsity starter.
