I don't know if it was hyperbole, but you wrote that it was an important enough game to fire the head coach if they were to lose. just saying that there are more reasons for optimisim than 12 months ago

Win or lose, he wasn't going anywhere.

Next year will be the year we can all judge him, mostly all his recruits in place. A winning record must be achieved next year or else I would say his job is in murky waters.

This year was tough...we crossed over with the top three teams in the West and we were the only team n the East not to get Akron. Still...we were a couple of plays away from finishing 7-5. The Buffalo game was big because we did some things we haven't done all year. We fell behind by two scores early and didn't fold and we came out and really put it to the other guys in the third qtr. If UMass plays in the east and we move west...we should cross over with Buffalo, Akron and UMass...
We bring back 10 starters on defense..the one guy we lose (Moore) was backed up by a true freshman who saw a fair amount of playing time. It's been a looooong time since we had so many returning starter. We didn't press with our DB's...I don't recall even one corner blitz. With that year of expereince and continuity that we were lacking before, I'd like to see us be more aggressive defensvely.
On offense..we have a QB that threw for 3,000 yds and had a 2-1 TD/int ratio. We have two RB's in Samuel and Martin that can play...Hopgood and Geiger give us some depth. We need Stokes,Coby and Joplin to step in next year....hopefully Gallon will be there too. The OL improved...you have to think that will continue. We lose Bojicic, but Robinson will be back next year and he looked good at C. Flew and Wharton return, as do Roussos and Bryant. The OL and WR's are the keys...if the OL takes that next step and Stokes and Coby are as good as advertised, we're going to be very tough next year.
This team is poised to contend for the MAC title...so yeah, Clawson should return.

Coach Clawson is the man in charge...next yr is very important. We have a nest full of starters back on both sides of the ball and kicking game. We will contend and win the East or his seat will get very warm in a hurry. The year after we have close to 18 starters back, according to the Buffalo game Depth Chart.
I am totally pumped for next yr...GO FALCONS
