Looking for the positives here.....

......I'm fuming about this move in so many ways. But on a serious note, maybe some of you can shed some light on some of the positives of this move for BG, because I am struggling to see any. Yes, I admit the BG-UT game just got more important, but I'm looking for more. Any serious input from anyone?

Geographically, it is a long road trip from BG to Philadelphia (Temple) or Foxboro, MA (UMass), or Buffalo. Much easier driving from BG to the 6 other West division teams.

I hear ya, Kent State and Akron are in my backyard, Ohio and Buffalo are about as close to me as BG is.

EMU is 25 minutes from my house...Toledo is 15...WMU and Central are within a few hours...I'm OK with it.

I love making the trip to CMU, staying at the Doerghty Hotel and a little casino time!

Living in Akron, it was great when BG came to Akron and Kent. Buffalo is only 3 1/2 hrs away and so is OU. Miami is about 4 hrs and Temple I would need a plane.

ut and EMU are still close but now I'm looking at 5+ hr road trips to Mt Not So Pleasant, Kalamazoo and Muncie...and forget about NIU. That is a 9 hr drive. That sucks for me. Not that anyone in our family wants to ever go back to CMU, either. They are the absolute worst fans in the MAC.

Never had any trouble at CMU, although the homecoming crowd is a bit rowdy, but haven't been back to NIU since we had bottles etc thrown into the BG crowd from the student section back in the nineties! It was fun watching the campus cops try and drag a few of the students out of the stadium! ;)

I'm hoping the speculation that all games will be on Saturday will hold. If that, somehow, is part of the fallout for switching, it makes it easier for us to make a game.

Karl,
Based on the scheduling thus far... (BG gets OU, Toledo gets Akron)...do you REALLY think the Sat. only schedule would apply? I'm guessing at least 2, possibly 3 HOME games will be nite games during the week, based on recent history. Hope I'm wrong, but just don't have much faith in the MAC these days. They sure haven't done us any favors! #-o

The MAC has bent us right over the three times in the last year. Between last year's schedule, the only team to move divisions for football, and then this year's schedule, what the he'll is next? By the time we get Akron back on the schedule, they will be back to being competitive and we'll lose to them on the last play or something.

I could care less if we have a bunch of road games on weeknights. I don't see any weeknight home games with that schedule.

Den: I was just going off someone else's statement. I can't remember the last time we only played on Saturdays and share your lack of faith in the MAC home office.

Just hoping for the best ...
