Hats off to the Chippewas . . . They've done it again . . . this time getting 3* kicker Rick Albreski. The Falcons were in on him and he committed after visiting this past weekend.

There are a few of you who are a little more up to date than I on things like these, but I think the D-1 scholarship limit is 85. Excluding graduating seniors and assuming Andrew Hart does NOT get another year, we should have 21 scholarships to fill (BTW, I'm all in favor of Andrew getting another year)
Currently before the recruitng class we have:
-12 Returning OL and walk-on Julian Shibley
-9 Returning DL and 2 walk-ons Ricky Walston/ Thomas Smith II
-as many as 9 returning LB with two walk-ons Don Sprenkel and Matt Simon
-15 Returning DBs with 3 walk-ons Michael Woods, Rob Smith and Kyle Cox
-8 Returning WRs with 2 walk-ons Matt Sinnreich and Matt Emans
-4 QBs including Omar, Turner, Washington and Van Johnson in that order
-2 Kickers and/or Punters with Nate Fry and Josef Timchenko
-3 Tight Ends including Winovich since that is where he is listed and 3 walk-ons . . . Adrian Baker, Andre Boomer and Josh Waldman
My bad and sincere apologies if I incorrectly identified anybody as a walk-on and they are not . . . I intend no ill-will.
Winovich, Partridge and Van Johnson are the most likely to receive new spots as Winovich is being evaluated at LB, Partridge is "special" and that equates to WR in our philosophy and Van Johnson could add much needed depth at RB or even WR.
Interesting subtractions . . .
-Raishaun Stover
-Jenkins Reese
-Tim Merchut
-Patrick Curran
-Jimmy Martin, obviously
-Sean Sutton
-Matt Leininger
Again no ill-will intended if I missed anyone . . . those were the ones that stuck out . . .
Interesting additions . . .
24 Michael Woods JR/DB Columbus, OH/Franklin Hts.
30 Matt Sinnreich FR/WR Miami Beach/Gulliver Prep
39 Rob Smith FR/DB Bellwood, IL/Proviso West (he's been around awhile)
43 Martell Mallett FR/RB Pine Bluff, Arkansas
47 Don Sprenkel FR/LB Delray Beach, FL/Atlantic Community (Omar's HS)
47 Adrian Baker FR/TE Maplewood, NJ/Columbia
85 Kyle Cox FR/DB Fort Belvoir, VA/Brussels American
86 Josh Waldman FR/TE Liberty Benton
Some are "newer" additions, but most have been around awhile, I just missed us getting kids from NJ, VA, Arkansas and Miami Beach!

Not to be dense, but who are these guys and what do the numbers mean?

They're walk-ons who have earned a spot on the "active" roster. The numbers are their jersey numbers

Jimmy Martin is obviously also known as Jimmy Carson.

You'd think with the success that Suisham has had, and the fact that because of our high scoring offense, the kicker will be on the field all the time, they'd want to come here.

I highly doubt they would move him to RB. WR and DB are both positions I could see him at next year though.

Johnson has been recently "trying out" for tailback. He has two years left and we lose two pretty good RBs next year. I think his quickness helps us more at DB, but I'm not making the big bucks or wearing a visor . . .

I'm still trying to figure out if the term "stud kicker" is an oxymoron...

Scroll down to see the picture of former NFL kicker Owen Pochman with babe Brande Roderick. If kickers are snagging chicks like this one, well, then I would call him a stud!

One need look no further than Shaun Suisham's girlfriend of AZZ.com lore, to know that kickers can, in fact, be studs

In the article, the mention Jeff Garcia. That guy is one ugly dude. He may even be uglier that the ugliest athlete of all-time...Willie McGee of baseball. How does Garcia get hot chicks? Can't be the money.

BGSU already has a "stud" kicker coming up in Eric Soltis. He was redshirted this year and you can expect big things from him in the years to come. I think he has the oppurtunity to be better than Shaun. I've seen this guy play in highschool and he can really kick the ball.
