#1 Jersey

I see the #1 jersey has been assigned. Someone's wearing it, looks like a wide receiver, in one of the pictures from practice. I'm guessing its Shaun Joplin, but can anyone refute that? FWIW, #1 normally is worn by a punt returner. Not saying Joplin's not a punt returner, but I didn't expect to see him handling returns this year. For that reason, I'm wondering if it might go to Stokes. We'll see ...

(And since I'm posting this, I think everyone can tell ... CAN'T WAIT FOR FALCON FOOTBALL!!)

According to this article from the Sentinel Joplin has been returning punts during spring practice, along with BooBoo Gates, Diontre Delk, and Travis Greene

The 2012 Spring Roster says, Derrell Hunter is wearing #1

That could be wrong though, I think DJ Lynch and Matt Shilz both wore 7 last year.

There is also a photo of a #7 on defense in spring practice and only Shilz listed as 7 on the roster.

So....who knows.

At one time the Wide Receivers claimed #1. I remember Corey P taking over the number because he wanted it to stay with the WR's. I think he gave up the number he had worn since Pee-Wee football.

You can have Two same #'s as long as they're both not on field at same time, which is why one usually gets assigned to D and one to O.
