Are you kidding me !! Other than Ohio U/Toledo we should be favored in every single MAC game. I mean could you dream up a better conf. schedule

Akron, Eastern Michigan, Umass, Buffalo - We should be favored by double digits

Miami Oh, and Kent - Favored by at least 6 points

Ohio U - Even

Toledo - I would say 3 point Dog for now

NO Temple , Northern Ill, Western Mich :::

NO EXCUSES THIS YEAR!!!

I agree this is a dream MAC schedule. That being said I wouldn't underestimate EMU. I'm not sure if last year was a fluke or not. They weren't a good team by any stretch of the imagination but they kept finding ways to win. Offense wasn't explosive but the defense kept them in games and even played great against NIU. I don't think EMU is going to rise into a MAC power anytime soon but I wouldn't be stunned one bit to see them contend yearly for a bowl game.

Eastern Michigan for whatever reason has made life difficult for us. We beat them 24-21 at home in 2006, and beat them again in 2007 38-30 up in Ypsilanti. But then came the 2008 game where we should've probably blown them halfway back up to the state line...and they beat us 24-21. That loss started a four-year Homecoming Hex and sent us on a tailspin for the rest of the 2008 season which of course ended in Gregg Brandon trashing the band, the community, and the fans and getting sent packing.

There's always some big surprises in MAC play. I don't like it...I like being able to say "ahh, that team's no big deal, that's a W" and it happening resoundingly. But it never happens. Knowing what we know, I wouldn't be surprised if somehow we beat both Toledo and Ohio on the road, yet dropped 2-3 games at home in conference and failed to make it to Detroit. Such a scenario played out in 2005, and again in 2008 where we just couldn't win at home. Winning at home has to be priority one in 2012.
