The Best Coach in the History of Every Football Team

Great article from Bleacher Report
There are now 125 FBS programs in college football and while some of them have had much more storied traditions than others, some hardly have any history worth talking about.
With so many teams, there have been thousands of college football coaches over the years. Some teams have even had more than one excellent coach.
Narrowing it down to the best coach from each team is no easy task, especially with the history and tradition of some teams.
But, that does not mean it is not fun to try and pick the best in the history of each program.
Spoiler - Doyt Perry is BG's best.
It's cool to check out others in the MAC.

Do "Great Article" and "Bleacher Report" ever belong in the same sentence together??

Interesting as you look thru the coaches with MAC backgrounds, in addition to actually being HC's.
Dave McClain - Ball St.
Jack Harbaugh- WKU
Don Nehlen - "nosed out " by Rich Rod at WVU.... highly debatable IMO.
Not to mention the "cradle of Coaches" group from MU.

RichRod over Nehlen? wow...I don't think so.
The Sporting News would probably say Matt Campbell is UT's all time HC...

Just watched "Doyt Perry: Coach For Life" the other night...it never gets old.
Nehlen easily beats Rich Rod at WVU...

nope!
bleacher report is full of plagiarists and incompetent writers. we've banned links to bleacher report on our board because they had a history of stealing some of our paid content and posting it as their own.
however, the idea of the "best coach per program" is an interesting one. not sure the the did much homework, though... he took the easy answer with boise state by choosing Chris Petersen.
had he done his research, he'd probably find out that Lyle Smith is the greatest coach in the program's history with a record of 156–26–6 and a national championship. Petersen may get there soon enough, but even he acknowledges Smith as the best-ever at boise.

Lyle Smith had a very impressive record...thanks for the history lesson about the Bronco program.
