Lindy’s Picks BG 4th in MAC East

Not much love for the Falcons by Lindy’s. They picked BG 4th in the MAC East, rated the Falcons the #109 team in the nation (8th best in the MAC) and BG’s prediction stated “Going to be tough to avoid third straight losing season.”
Here is the breakdown:

Most Valuable Player: Tyler Tettleton, Ohio
Offensive Player of the Year: Brandon Oliver, Buffalo
Defensive Player of the Year: Roosevelt Nix, Kent State
Newcomer of the Year: Jordan Harden, Toledo
Other Notes:
Ohio vs. WMU in the MAC Championship.
None of the 15 MAC games listed as “The Big Ones” involved BG.
Two Falcons were listed in the “Top 10 NFL Talent” listed in #3 Dwayne Woods and #7 Chris Jones.
BG’s MAC selections were: Anthon Samuel (1st Team), BooBoo Gates (1st Team), Chris Jones (1st Team), Dwayne Woods (1st Team) and Brian Schmiedebusch (1st Team).
Schmiedebush was also listed the #6 punter in the country, while Matt Schiltz was listed as the “Strongest Arm” and BooBoo Gates was named the “Special Teams Demon.”
In terms of our non-conference opponents, two teams were listed in the Top-25 in Virginia Tech (#18) and Florida (#20), while Idaho was listed as #102. Rhode Island (FCS) was picked 10th in the CAA.
