I just read on bgsu.edu that we signed a JC TE next year who will be here in Jan for school. He is Rubin Ruiz from Arizona Westrn College and stands 6'4 and weights 240. Coach says he is a great blocking TE who is also a great athlete and will help us move down the field.

We need MORE TE's. I think we should line up in a 4 TE formation and just pund the ball all day...

hey 87

I wasnt aware that we needed help moving down the field. Oh well, I guess that is why Brandon and Co. make the big bucks.

With only 1 scholarship TE (O'Drobinak) in the program, I'm not surprised they're going both the JUCO and high school route. I would guess one of the high school kids (assuming they both sign) will switch positions once practice starts next fall.

Even if you line up with a tight end 25% of the time (I'd guess we've gone with a TE 10%-15% of the time this year), it gives an opposing defensive cooordinator another thing to prepare for. With our offense, that's just another headache for the opponent.

What about DiBacco? Is he not on a scolly? The two times we saw the Falcons play, he got more PT than O'Drobinak.

And I would say that even 10% is too high in regard to how often we line up with a TE.

DiBacco is a fifth year senior. I think this was a "looking forward to next season" comment about only having one TE that is a scholarship guy.

Can you seriously defend signing 3 TEs in one signing period? Two of these guys have to be switching postions . . . O'Drobinak is only a redshirt-sophomore next year . . . This is just getting quite amusing when we can identify problems "moving the ball downfield" and "tight end blocking" yet we still only have 1 kid signed that is projected at DB . . . Erique Dozier and Nate Waldron must be really good

A JC? Gasp!

How's Gabe Hatchett? Now that was a quality JC pick up and a great kid.

I don't think anyone's all that appalled that BG signed a JUCO, more that we've signed yet another tight end for a team that pretty much ingores the position in its game plan.

Nice outlet for Omar. Miami must be reeling - first Ben, then losing MACC,
The Hep.

IU is a heck of a nice place. Not all that far from Oxford.
