I think these lawsuits are going to be commonplace in every level of football in the coming years. I'd be surprised if this particular lawsuit holds up.

Why would you be suprised if this suit holds up?
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Two things:
1) If this is legitimately true, I feel sorry for him that he was unable to get his degree due to neurological damage.
2) However, if a helmet was "ill-fitted," wouldn't the player know it and logically ask for a different helmet or for the helmet to be adjusted? I have a hard time believing it would hold up because of that. I know it's not the same, but when you put any hat on, you can tell whether it's too tight, too loose, or just right.

How can the player prove the helmet was not fitted correctly?

If they can prove negligence then it may have legs. But, I don't know how they can do that.

This states he is also suing for not having the concussions properly treated, that's another case of worms.

Expect to see more and more of these kinds of suits.

IDK..."Ill fitting" could encompass a number of variables...were all of the helmets in use ill-fitting...were they flawed by design? So far as his specific helmet goes...he might not have spoken up..or he might have. He might not have felt comfortbale doing so...Without more specific infiormation, it's hard to sya if there's any merit or not.

Good point. If it was a flawed helmet then Riddell is on the hook.

My guess is this will be in the courts for awhile.
