Granted this article is mainly about UF just staying focused on the task at hand, but it also shows some respect to the talent we have on the team this year.

Good article, aside from the misuse of the word "
historical."

Is anyone else extremely baffled by this near 30 point spread? I know in the grand scheme of things it means nothing, but whoever comes up with this is acting like Florida is a top 5 team. Did this team beat anyone by 30 last season?

Well, Florida Atlantic, UAB and Kentucky.
Just answering the question. It has no bearing on our game at all. I agree the spread is off, so put your cash on The Falcons and the points. Vegas is off here.

Its simple, the common fan who knows nothing of either teams is just gonna to see the names Florida and Bowling Green and just assume Florida wins by that much and take Florida and the points. Its the dumb fans like that Vegas makes its money off of

I'd take the Falcons and 30 any day of the week. We usually play well against BCS teams early on...and beaten quite a few. Cincy has a good point. UF is a national power and BG is in the, as some refer, MAC Conference. LOL. The casual fan who knows nothing about teams not in the BCS will assume FL is a national contender and BG is a sucky , 2nd rate team.
I think not only can BG compete, there is a chance for an upset. If this were the Tebow led Gators, no way. But aside from their terrific D and kicker, the O does have question marks. It is still a very talented team, no question. UF gets the cream of the crop all the time. But I like the way our guys have been talking all camp...there is a real confidence in their tone. Something that's been missing for some time and it's back.
Just tee the damn ball up....GO FALCONS!!!! C ya at the Swamp...

Hey, if you'll have me I'll be happy to stick around. I run my own little site - nominally Gator-related - that you are all invited to contribute to as well:

As for the large spread, it's probably just a holdover from when the Gators used to beat opponents by that much. Expectations remain pretty high even if reality is somewhat different.

I think once Peese gets his offensive schemes in place, the Gators will begin to roll. I was pleasantly surprised how much we moved the ball on the UF D. They really shut us down in the 2nd quarter when we had a few 3 and outs but for the most part, we moved the ball well.

Lets not forget that Florida did not blitz us, and I don't think they ran play action. They were not going to reveal their playbook before they had to play Texas A&M, unless they had to. I still think BG did a great job, but this was a Florida team not wanting to show too much.
