BG opens a 6 1/2 pt dog in Vegas.

Hard to get a good grasp on BG thus far...two vastly different efforts. What team will show up on Saturday? Toledo's defense, despite the horrid numbers, has been efficient at producing turnovers and forcing field goals in the red zone.

Rivalry games are always hard to predict, and this game looms large for both schools. A BG loss, and they're staring a 1-3 start right in the face. The Falcons must clean up the penalties and finish drives in order to win this one.

Perhaps I am a bit overly optimistic, but I believe BG's defense can cause enough problems and generate enough stops to win this game, but the offense and in particular the playcalling must improve if they want to win. This one goes right down to the wire.

It seems like our offense has been stalling a little too often, but the UT defense has been swiss cheese. I like the 35 point pick for us, but I'm going to give Toledo a little bit more credit and let them have 31. By the way, we attempt and miss two field goal attempts, we miss one XP, but convert a 2 pt. conversion late in the game.

Odd though it may seem..we may have the best defense UT has faced this year....and they have the best offense we've faced. We miss a FG in OT...but destroy them next year.

We haven't been great offensively in any quarter so far but we haven't scored in the second or fourth quarter of either game looking pitiful at times. We are going have to play well for 4 quarters to win this one. I would like to see our offense take an identity. Not real sure what we want to be right now on that side of the ball.

This game will show us where we are at as a football team. Are we the 5-7 team from a year ago or are we ready to contend for the MAC title? Need to win this one.

After last week, I'm not very optimistic.

You know, normally I approach these games from an analytical perspective and try to find truth in the outcome. (Which I might add, I've just about nailed the first two games this year) But sometimes, you have to throw that out the window and go with your gut. Since the offseason, I've had a really good feeling about this game, and its not letting up now.

Don't ask me how, don't ask me why...but BG comes out firing on offense and keeps the pedal to the metal, making the rocket defense look silly all night. And we actually make an FG too. BG gets to 2-1 and more importantly, win their MAC opener and snap a 2-game losing streak to UT.

I want to say we are going to layeth the smacketh downeth on the rockettes but I think it will be a fairly close game with us not sealing the deal until late in the game, similar to the Idaho game.
