I really hope he isn't out for the year....it doesn't really say what the injury is. But we are REALLY thin now....
Per John Wagner's blog:
Let's take a look at the two-deep for Saturday's game against the Hokies. The most noticeable change is at nose tackle, where senior Ted Ouellet is listed as the starter and freshman Mike Minns is the back-up....The bad news is that this change means Jairus Campbell, who injured his foot in the Toledo contest. Campbell will not play against the Hokies, and his status for future games is uncertain at this time. Campbell had four tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss, in BG's first three games....“[This injury] is not good for us," coach Dave Clawson said. "Jairus is having a great year. He’s a great kid that’s worked very hard and he’s overcome injuries in the past. We’re going to have to have somebody step up. He’s one of our best players, so it’s tough losing him.”

I saw him on crutches near the end of the game. That really sucks...

Time for Ted Ouellet to step up, he's played really well so far. I wonder too if things get too thin, if they move Roussos back to DT and put Robinson at RG. Always an option I suppose. Minns looks like a good one too.

Does anyone know exactly what he did to his foot? Is it broken? A sprain?

SOB! First we lose Gilbert (non-injury), then Maynard, and now Campbell. We are extremely thin on the interior of the DL and can't afford any more loses. If he's is out for the season, I hope he gets a medical red-shirt. At this rate, we may have to look at maybe moving a red-shirt OL candidate like JJ Beggan (he played both ways on HS and has the size) over to DL in case anyone else goes down.

Mike Minns would be a better choice than trying to move an OL over to DL, I woud think. Minns looks the part any way.

I wish we did not have to burn Minns or Lunsford redshirt but that might be the best option. Another is to temporarilly move a couple O-lineman over to the D-line. I have no idea what experience they have but maybe they had some HS experience on either side.
6-2 307 Nick Hagar
6-2 289 Spencer Cairo
6-3 275 John Fry
We are down to Ouellet, Jones and an undrsized Taylor Royster in the interior D-line rotation. Perhaps Colvin (6-2 268) or Thomas (6-2 260) could move underneath.
There are options but if Minns is the best one then lets go for it. I think I'd take a couple O-lineman and move a DE inside temporarily until they're ready. But, that is me looking in from the outside with zero concrete information on any player.

Minns is listed on the 2 deep this week, so I'd expect him to see some time. Somewhere I've read or heard (might have been on here actually) that Colvin is the guy that moves inside, so that's an option too. Minns and Royster are both 300+ so maybe getting them some PT isn't such a bad thing. Sucks burning the redshirt, but that's the reality of college football.
Its interesting because we've had formations where Jones lines up at an end spot. I would imagine that will stop now, but I like him out there.
