Yes I know we played two solid defensive teams in Florida and Virginia Tech, but we're averaging just 12.5 ppg a month into the season. That has got to change now. We also struggled scoring agains Toledo and Idaho and our one TD vs Idaho came on a shortened field after the int we made. Our offense must start sustaining drives and ending with scores, and our damn placekicking must start to surface so it's not all or nothing for the offense when we get near or in the redone. This upcoming game vs Rhode Island has become extremely important on many levels for this team. Not only do we need a win, we need to roll. Rhode Island is 0-3 and has been beaten up in three games against FCS teams and we need to make a few statements here in this one. Period.

What concerns me the most is one passing TD in 16 quarters of football. We are absolutely not a threat to throw the ball whatsoever, coupled with the fact that the play calling and route running has been extremely sub par. Something's gotta give soon you would think.

I want to see more of a running game...we have too many solid backs with Samuel, Martin, Pettigrew, Hopgood and now Givens not to run the ball. IF we can't throw effeciently, get the ground game going.

BG has been running the ball extremely well, IMO. But when people are putting 8 guys in the box because they don't respect your pass game at all, it's hard to run. Or when you get behind 17-3 and 21-0 like the last 2 games.

Exactly. We've gotten behind very quickly in games the last couple of weeks, which puts you in a position where you have to throw.

The part that's infuriating is that we shouldn't be having so much trouble throwing the ball. If the problem is Schilz, he should be benched. If the problem is Ruggiero, which is the much more likely outcome, then his playcalling duties need to be revoked and Clawson needs to call his own plays.

If it's any consolation to you and your offense, I heard that your third opponent of the year is ranked 119 out of 124 in total defense. Ok, yeah, that probably doesn't help. lol
