Rhode Island is pretty bad it seems , we're dominating them pretty easily.

Still to vanilla to make me think we are making a run at the east.

We lack a receiver that will make a play after the catch. We need a gamebreaker other than Samuel. ...I like that we are taking care of business here. We needed a game to iron out the kinks and feel good about ourselves.

Tyler Tate getting it done with a PAT too. Gotta get some confidence and no better time than now.
Well ok, it would've been nice to have some confidence 4 games ago too. But at least they're finding themselves now.

Getting Johnson some reps now. Looking decent, obviously not 100%, but it's important to get him some reps right now while we can.

Two items:
1. When Stein missed the first PAT of the game, he should have been benched going forward. Perhaps we should give Farinella (sp?) a shot since he's the kick-off guy.
2. The game was over at the end. Why did we try for a TD with 4th and goal from the 2? That was the perfect opportunity to let one of our kickers get a freebie field goal. Trying for the touchdown, in that situation, looked as if we were trying to run the score up. In our last game against Virginia Tech, when we went for it on 4th down in field goal range, I had no problem with it since a FG was not going to get us back in the game. Here, even if we missed the kick, it would not have mattered.

You NEVER kick a FG on 4th and anything with a huge lead. It's considered a cheap way to tack on points...a serious violation of football etiquitte.

That's news to me. If that's the case, then I guess I have no problem with us going for it on 4th and goal.

I'm guessing that, with all the backup linemen in the game, DC was trying to get a score on a straight run play, NOT to "run up the score". If that wasn't the reason, then we could've taken a knee a couple of times and run the clock out.
