Total domination today...ran the ball down Miami's throat and stuffed them on D. THREE net yards rushing for MU and Dysert wasn't impressive. Our D is kicking azz....6 more sacks today. Schilz had a very good game after a poor performance at Akron. Samuel a career best 171 yards on 22 carries and John Pettigrew continues to shine in relief. Shout out to Stephen Stein....give the dude credit cuz he has bounced back BiG time.

Anyone climbing back on the band wagon? :-D Ahhh, we kept the seats warm for ya!

BEAT UMASS!!!!!!! :supz:

I had my doubts after the Va Tech game...but they've bounced back and seemed to have gotten thier confidence back. The OL really has come together as a unit...they were getting after Miami today and staying on blocks right up to the whistle. What once was a weakness is fast becoming a strength.

I can't wait to see Chris Jones play on Sunday. He's the best DL we've had since Briggs. The man just makes big plays.

I'm excited for this team going forward. They can beat anyone in the MAC.

Amazing how physically strong this team is, especially on defense. The defense is by far the best in the MAC this year. All the more impressive when you realize 2 of the top 3 defensive tackles are out and it's full of underclassmen.

Chris Jones is an absolute beast. Forget all MAC honors, he is approaching All-America honors. Teams in this league simply don't have anyone who can block him and you can ask Florida and Va. Tech how good he is.

Was just wondering , is Jarius Campbell out for the year or just for a few more weeks? He's a stud at 6'5 310 and would be awesome if we could get him back at some point.

That Rhode Island game could not have come at a better time for the morale of this team.

Hopefully we continue to get better each week. Tough defense and a solid offense is a championship formula.

Unfortunately, he is done for the year....which really sux. Oulette and Colvin have stepped up nicely and Taylor Royster, a true frosh, is getting some good minutes. Missing Hunter Maynard hurts as well but the rest of the D line has picked it up. Bryan Baird is really playing well.

Was just going to say that...whoever was responsible for scheduling Rhode Island on Sept 29 deserves a raise. The team was downtrodden and struggling after a rough 1st quarter of the year against tough opposition and needed a feel-good game right there. They got it, and clearly the team is playing with a lot more gusto now than before.

Loved watching that game on Saturday. It's been long overdue to have a team that wins games by running the ball and playing good defense. I'm glad to see the coaches seem to have finally figured out that you need to base an offense on running and work the passing off of that. We saw some good run fake/pass to the tight end over the middle plays. Those are bound to be there when you have success running. I just hope Bayer's injury is not serious. He's a big part of the offense and it would really hurt to lose him.
Anyone hear anything on Martin's injury? Can't have enough quality running backs and he's done well in his limited opportunities.

I am an eternal pessimist, but this year I came into the season with very high hopes and expectations for this team. Now at this point of the season, I feel like I did before the first game was played - that this team is capable of at least winning the East and when you get into the championship game, anything can happen. They are probably going to have to run the table to get there and that can be done if they give 100% focus on preparation every single week, taking no team for granted. There is too much parity in this league to take a week off. The team can't afford to look ahead on the schedule, but as a fan, I can. If we win them all through Ohio, I hope we won't breathe a sigh of relief and relax the following week. That Kent team is for real and our recent history with them has been ugly, so they will likely have a lot of confidence in that matchup. That game actually worries me more than the Ohio game.

OU scares me because its a weeknight road game against a very good home opponent. Kent State scares me because Dri Archer himself can win games, and I'm not sure we've seen a dynamic player like him yet. Either way, its week by week right now, but those two games look absolutely huge right now.

Just saw Dri Archer was timed at a 4.21 in the 40 over the winter ... damn. Gotta contain that guy.

Yeah...timed at Kent during condtioning. That doesn't sound at all suspicious. I call "shenanigans".....

Not saying he isn't fast...but 4.21 ranks right up there with Gil Brandt's claim that he hand timed Kirk Gibson in the 3.9's.... :)
