Not sure if it has been mentioned but Jones is first in the NCAA with 9 sacks

Also he has had a sack in every game this year except the Florida game and if I remember correctly Woods screwed him out of a sack in that one.

Jones is all world right now. And, with teams so focused on him, it allows Oulette, Baird, Colvin and other guys on the line to get more pressure. C Jones should seriously be considered for All American at this time. The NFL scouts love him.
C Jones now has 24.5 career sacks and has vaulted into THIRD all time in BG history...Kevin O'Brien, the outstanding LB from 89-92, is the career leader with 31. Diyral Briggs is 2nd at 26.
#91 kicks azz...

Have not seen much on this. ESPN has him ranked as the 50th best DT prospect.

There have been a good number of scouts at practice and games this year looking at him. Maybe love was too strong a word but no doubt he is playing very well.

The ESPN thing is probably dated. My bet is that he gets drafted but he is actually pretty undersized for a DT.

He's not really that undersized....depending on the scheme. He's not going to be a run stuffing blob, but he could make it as "weak" DT with pass rush responsibilities. And I'm not calling him weak...he's as s trong as an ox...

The one sack he had of Dysert when he completely ran over the offensive lineman looked like he lifted the QB off the ground and slammed him with one arm with the o-lineman on his back. It's clear he has more strength than anyone on the field when he plays other MAC competition and It's fun to watch.

He's almost the exact same size as Geno Atkins who was a pro bowler last year and has 6 sacks this year.
He would be great in a 3-4 scheme. Teams don't need big fat run stuffers anymore, they need guys who get after the quarterback and that is where Jones excels.
He is going to be a steal for someone in the middle rounds.

Clawson said earlier that Jones has DT power but DE speed. He might get drafted as an end. I'd personally rather see him at DT though. More natural for him.

MAC East Defensive POW for the week. I suspect he'll dominate against UMass.

Third time this year, and I feel a fourth coming after this week's game

We've played 7 games this year, and in 3 of them Chris Jones has been named MAC East defensive player of the week.
There are 7 east teams, each with 11 defensive starters. That is 77 possible contenders for this title, each week, and in 3 / 7 weeks Jones has won the title. I'm not sure I've ever seen that kind of domination before.
