OT-T*ledo takes out Cinci... without scoring an offensive TD

Just to give ourselves a perspective of what we were up against earlier in the season (and might face again later...), Toledo took out #21 ranked Cincinatti without even scoring an offensive touchdown.

5 FGs
1 Pick-6
1 Kick Return

weird.

Honestly, the only bad loss BG's had this year is VA Tech. The Florida and Toledo losses are looking easier to take with each week. Toledo has a good team, and IMO the thing they have that BG doesn't is athletes and gamebreakers at WR.

Toledo had a first and 2 and a first and 3 and went totally conservative with botched runs up the middle on every play, settling for FGs both times. Of course having a weapon like Detmer makes anything inside the 35 a scoring opportunity. Man, does he have a leg. Owens was way off his game but Cinci had all kinds of trouble moving the ball through the air.

Interestingly enough Toledo scored no offensive TDs in their win at Michigan a few years back.

Understandable given the way things have been going with BG athletics versus UT lately. although it appears that under the leadership of Christopher things are turning around a little. Tennis and golf are both doing well this autumn and football is coming along, albeit against weak competition. He made a brilliant hire for track that will start to show fruit this year when a slew of talented redshirts return to the track this winter. I think your AD has you headed in the right direction-maybe you'll have less reason to hate in years to come.

And swimming, although its preseason and I don't know what that means exactly. I think coaches mess around with lineups and stuff in these events so I'll reserve judgement until the real deal this winter. A few years back we won every Fall sport event but football I think. Christopher has the program going in the right direction.
