Biggest game since....

IMO, Saturday's game will be the biggest home game since 2005, Toledo @ BG game.

I will be extremely disappointed if this game isn't sold out or close to sold out.

Early weather forecast is 50 and sunny with light winds. Doesn't get much better than that.

Prepare to be disappointed. It'll be a good crowd but it won't be sold out, partly because Kent won't travel well, and partly because enough students/townies will stay home to drink and watch Ohio State at 3:30. If BG draws 16 or 17,000, I'll consider it a good turnout.

Who cares how many people are there? I just want to see the 100 or so guys on our sideline come out ready to play some football. We did that stupid "lock the Doyt" thing a few years go where a couple of guys would put a lock and chain on the gate towards the visitor's end of the field. Never felt we had a team with the toughness to pull that gesture off.

We sure do now....

Anybody think we could get a couple votes for top 25 if we come away with this one?

We were picking up some votes at the end of the 2007 season when we had won 4 straight and were 8-4, so I would think 8-3 and 7 straight wins, one over a ranked opponent, would be enough to get SOMEBODY to vote for us.

Hell, if we beat Kent State, we'd have the same record as U$C, and we'd have 1 more win against ranked opposition than them. Funny how these rankings work out...

Plus every win in that win streak has been by multiple TD's, so they're not flukes. Guess we'll see...be nice to get a little recognition.

Perhaps. The MAC has been really good this year and has turned some heads. I do imagine whoever comes out on top in Detroit will be nationally ranked. Would be cool to see both teams come into that game and come out of it ranked.

Freakling2 has a hockey game at 7:30 that day so we won't hit BG till a bit after 11. Gonna tailgate after the game to celebrate! I'm already fired up and its only freakin Monday. I will be looking for an extra ticket for Freakling1.

BTW, read in the Akron Beacon Journal Kent State is offereing students (free) and all others ($25) a bus ride up to the Doyt. 3 buses total so they should be bringing a decent crowd.

GO FALCONS!!! CLOSE THE DEAL!!!!!

I'd say it's the biggest at BG since the MAC title game in '03 when Miami came in ranked 13th led by Big Jen. Like that game, this one has title implications on the line.

If BG can find a way to corral KSU's running attack and win this game, and then not stumble against Buffalo, it will be BG's first trip to Detroit for the MAC title game. That's a pretty big deal for a school that routinely finds ways to lose its chances to win championships in most sports. :(

I have to give Clawson a lot of credit for putting together the best BG defense we've had in a long time, so that gives the Falcons a chance. But it's going to take some creative passing to win this game, I think, or some special teams plays like we saw at OU.

Interesting note...BG has opened as a 2 1/2 point favorite.

Absolutely. Kent's running game is devastating...just unreal. The D has their biggest challenge of the year. But I like our running game as well. You are correct in the fact Schilz and the WR's, TE's and backs are gonna have to make plays thru the air. With the STs, I love our speed. Punter advantage to BG but I'd have to give Kent the edge in the place kicking game. Freddy Cortez doesn't miss much...

Dang boyee...sure is gettin' exciting. Sports Time Ohio at noon, on the tele.

you BG fans are as fake as they get. You sit on here and complain during games on how much clawson needs to be fired, schillz blows, the offense sucks, the defense sucks, but than when they win it's clawson is doing a great job, schillz is managing the game well, and the D is unstopable. It is funny to read how fake and bipolar you fans are during the games while you post.

anyway, when the RB from kent starts running on you guys and you guys complain that clawson blows and cant win a big game and D didnt come to play or whatever dumb reason you guys will say, kent will win 24-14
