Toledo - EMU game

Anyone read the article in the Toledo blade about how EMU wants Toledo to forfiet its victory from this year. It appears Toledo deliberately dubbed its tape this year from the UT - Kansas game. It took out the play where Toledo ran its fake punt. That play was taken out of the game tapes. Then in the EMU - Toledo game, Toledo called the same play and it worked, helping them score a TD, turn the momentum, and win the game. I can see why EMU would be upset, but I dont think it cost them the game. But it is wrong for Toledo to cheat like that. That is wrong

It helps to have all the facts first before opening up your beak and making yourself look like a fool.
Were you at the game? If you were at the game you would have seen that Toledo was already up 35 - 17, true that Toledo did score on the same drive they pulled the fake, but that would be the last time the Rockets score in the contest. EMU scored 14 unanswered points in the 4th qtr. Its kinda hard to argue that Toledo had all sorts of momentum after that fake punt.

Seems like a lot of noise over a minor detail. The MAC should address the issue with Toledo and move on.
Forfeit the game? Please.
Wonder what happened to the lost play? (Fake Punt)

Well, its 3rd and 8 on the Toledo 25. Then its 1st and 10 on the toledo 40. What happened? I guess that they assumed that they jumped offsides three times. Send them to C-USA with UCF and put them out out of their misery.

cheating is cheating, no matter what the score was. And didn't that game end up being just a 10 point win anyway? ...FWIW I give UT a lot of credit for winning that game after giving up 63 back to back to weeks. I think if they had lost that game the season could have gotten really bad. You guys got it together just in time.

Typical Rockettes...defending and rationalizing the indefensible. Cheaters never win and winners never cheat...karma will be a bitch.
Who knows how the karmic justice will be meted out...maybe Amstutz get's shorted a side order at the KFC drive thru, maybe trustee Brennan loses his favorite blanky just before nappy time, maybe your hoops team will start the year 1-5...

As stated, I don't think this is a big deal, but using your on-field success as a defense for this type of thing seems a bit incongruous, don't you think?

You must be kidding. I hadn't heard Cha-Ching since Mclure was quarterback until you guys brought it back. I say that we give it a proper burial.

Can we just put this one to bed already? It's a simple fix as I see it. The conference steps in and makes sure all of the tapes get to the correct teams and tact. As far as Toledo is concerned it's just as simple. Toledo has to issue a formal apology to the conference and especially to EMU for the mistake. And maybe for good measure EMU gets a couple hundred more tickets the next time they play in Toledo. I don't think this is severe enough to warrant a forfeit, but some form of public apology works.

I think they should make Stutz the Hutt stand at mid-field of next years EMU game, and sing "I'm a little Tea Pot."

I really don't like it (the video caper) one bit. I'd like to know who knows what, and when they knew it. Things are bleak when you have to trick EMU.
Hopefully the Karma won't hit until December 28.
