NCAA Presidents just approved new measure that the highest ranked conference champion from the Big East, MAC, WAC, Sun Belt and C-USA will receive an automatic bid to a "BCS" game once the playoff format begins. Its not perfect, but we're getting closer to an equal playing field.

In what world do you live in where you think a MAC team will make a BCS game, and if you did make it, would you enjoy a 40+ point beatdown? Id rather play in a bowl game and have a shot to win

And lose money while playing in the WhoCares Bowls instead of getting millions for a BCS game? Yep, guess that's why you're a Kent St. fan.

So does this mean that the Big East is being removed as an AQ conference? I'm totally okay if that's the case because they are pretty damned awful. Glad to see a ruling that at least puts us in a position that makes it possible for a MAC school to make it.

It sure looks that way, drumstix. That may be the most surprising part of this announcement.

Yes. The Big East will be considered one of the "Group of Five" along with the MAC, CUSA, MWC, and Sun Belt.

Not MWC, it's the WAC. Right?

The WAC doesn't look to be long for this world in football. The Group of Five is as listed by BGSUfalcons.
