It's always a good day to be a Falcon.

It would be nice to be more than an also ran once in a while, though -- especially in the major sports.

BG has a miserable record in these kinds of games during the past 20 years in both football and basketball. It shouldn't be that long between championships.

How are we an "also-ran"? That was as much fun as I've had at the Doyt in years...yeah it didn'ty go our way in the end. ..but we were right there with a top 25 team. I'm very proud of our team and like RUIT...always glad to be a Falcon.

I agree but I'm TIRED of losing the BIG one. Come on...Kent State for the love of God! This should be a winning program. Start acting like one!

Also, I think Coach has this team on the verge of something great. Great crowd today that hung in until the end. We have good things coming. I call front seats for the season ticket hand-out event next year!

Next year we should be at our peak. Still one of the younger teams in the nation aren't we?

Great Crowd? According to the box score, we drew an "amazing" SIXTEEN K for a game with the E. Div. on the line...and KSU actually brought quite a few people... 52 degrees, sunny..... One good thing I saw out of this is that our students stayed to the bitter end.. Someone asked me if we'd ever win the MAC in his lifetime...Thank GOD I saw some super BG teams in "the old days", especially the '59 team.

Like everyone else, I'm disappointed in the results but give credit to Kent .... they came to play and we had NO ONE who could stay with #1, (nor has anyone else for that matter).

Heading down to Columbus next week and hope these kids can bounce back vs Buffalo... tough game to play after an emotional loss. 8-[

Youth St ill Served
Even with 20 starters returning, the
Falcons still have the 10th youngest team
in the country according to PhilSteele.
com. According to that website the
Falcons have 66.7 percent of its roster
as underclassmen. The entire roster
breakdown is below.
Seniors..................................................10 (9.5%)
Juniors............................................... 25 (23.8%)
Sophomores.................................... 26 (24.8%)
Freshmen.......................................... 44 (41.9%)

That freshman number has to be way off. It puts our roster at over 100, and you only get 75 schollies.

The entire thing must include walk ons and you usually have 85 schollies

BGSUFalcons.com has 102 on the roster. The 2-deep lists 5 senior starters, including Stephen Stein and the long snapper. Of course two of those are named Jones and Woods.

With Maryland and Rutgers headed apparently to the big ten we are another step closer to being division two. I'd love to say I would follow this team no matter what but the mac championship means little more to me then my hs winning a championship. I assume as we become more and more nationally invisible the product will get worse and worse and we won't be much different then Findlay in fifteen years

I think we'll be OK or better than OK at LB with Martin, Swan, Lynch et al.... DT is a bit more of a concern as two guys will be coming back from serious injuries (Campbell and Maynard).
