Anybody think this guy is a joke after what he said about NIU?

Game is on ESPN so he's just towing the company line. Hate the system, don't hate the team of conference who used them to their advantage.

Eff him and ESPN. They've been ripping NIU for the last hour. The same system created to keep us little guys out blew up in their face. Too bad...

Could somebody fill me in on what he said?

Please inform us?

Basically said that NIU wasn't deserving and that its crap that a team like Georgia isn't going to a BCS game. Them's the rules, sucks when t blows up in your face, eh?

That doesn't sound so outrageous. But NIU is ranked over Wisconsin and Louisville....didn't that thought get discussed?

And it was the way he said it. Totally condescending and arrogant. He ripped NIU up one side and down the other. It's all fine and dandy until the system screwed the big boys. BWHAHAHAHAHA! Love it.

My favorite part was where he tried to bring in Louisville's strength of schedule into play. The Big East, really? Louisville LOST to Uconn, beat a terrible USF by 2, and escaped the worst team in the country by 4 points. Heaven forbid Herbstreit say anything negative about one of his precious BCS conferences. BCS humpers.

NIU lost to pre-injury Iowa by 1 point. Iowa had some key injuries to both lines and the RBs got decimated. If not for those injuries Iowa was probably a Big Ten contender. If NIU played today's Iowa team they would roll all over the Hawkeyes and finish 12-0.

Have no problem with him stating his opinion. That's what he's paid to do. He being critical of the BCS system and not NIU here.

Would any of us bet our house on NIU against a Georgia, Wisconsin or Oklahoma? Not hardly.

I see your point, and I agree with it for the most part. But basically calling NIU a joke when they could easily be undefeated right now was just ignorant and arrogant. We will just have to wait and see how they do against FSU.

My older brother is a Michigan alum and a Big Ten snob through and through. He said something at Thanksgiving this year that really truly bothered me. And I let him know it. He said something about how Akron is having such a good season so far and their coach will be gone soon. I said Akron has one win, but Kent is doing great. They have one loss. He said, "oh whatever, some small Ohio school." I went off on the guy about his condescension. I told him that these are universities with 20,000 or so students who call that place home. These schools have alumni bases who love their university just as he loves his. I railed on that point for several minutes though I'm guessing he completely ignored all since it's not Wisconsin or Nebraska or another Big Ten school. Why the attitude towards "some small school in Ohio?" What's the deal? The attitude towards the MAC institutions by anyone outside the MAC is truly bothersome. I hope NIU kicks the sh*t out of FSU, wakes the college football world up, and caps this great season the MAC has had thus far.
