Ticket Purchasing . . . Where is the PROMOTION ????

I'll never understand (well . . . yes I do, but) why the Athletic Dept does not get this information out - like about 2 minutes after the Bowl announcement. Why do we have to get information from John Wagner at the Blade (don't even see this as their job, but Thanks John W.)?
The Dept is always looking for more $$$ and then when there is a chance to get it, they don't promote it. And how might this effect future Bowl invitations? There was even a web site in AZZ that had the BG Athletic Dept name on it that had the Ticketbastard site to buy tickets.
And since, as it's been mentioned on AZZ, you can purchase tickets for the Military attendees as an added bonus that helps them and BG's sales numbers. To me this is a B!G deal and some B!G money for the Dept. Maybe they have something planned for later but I would have hoped for a huge Marketing push prepared for the minute the announcement was released. Just frustrating.

Per John W. Falcon Blog: Speaking of tickets, even BG fans who aren't going to the game can help both the school and a good cause. The Military Bowl donates tickets to active-duty troops and their families through a partnership with the USO and USO-Metro.
According to the bowl's web site, over the past two years the Military Bowl has provided 10,000 free tickets to active-duty troops and their families through its partnership with the USO and USO-Metro. If you do not plan to attend the game, please consider buying tickets to donate to those families. If you purchase them through the school web site, you help BG reach its bowl allotment and help military families in the Washington D.C. area attend the game.
My guess is that they wouldn't mind wearing a little orange and brown -- and no black -- to show their thanks! Sorry, couldn't resist.
If BG fans were looking for a place to take a quick holiday vacation, they would be hard-pressed to find a place as interesting as Washington D.C. Click here to view a schedule of events during the team's stay in Washington.
I have had several people tell me that the Military Village and tailgate on the Armory Mall before the game is especially impressive.
