If I counted that right, we have signed 4 runningbacks from Florida. Is that a usual number? Are we losing a bunch and I forgot?

By the way, this runningback looks like a stud:
Fred Coppet, RB, 5-9, 180, Ft. Lauderdale. Fla. (St. Thomas Aquinas)
High School: Currently attends St. Thomas Aquinas High School ... coached by Rocco Casullo ... team captain ... three-year starter ... rushed for 3,300 yards and 58 touchdowns in his career ... earned first-team all-county for three consecutive years and is a two-time first-team all-state member ... led his team to a state championship as a sophomore and senior ... team won the national title as a sophomore.

Also, did you see this kid? Wow!
Ryan Hunter, OL, 6-5, 315, North Bay, Ontario (Canisius)
High School: Currently attends Canisius High School ... coached by Rich Robbins ... team captain ... won the Trench Trophy, given to Western New York’s Lineman of the Year ... was named the Buffalo News Player of the Year ... was named Buffalo Bills Alumni Defensive Lineman of the Year ... earned first-team all-state and first-team All-Western New York ... team MVP ... was a two-time Canadian weight lifting champion.

Samuel and Pettigrew are gone. Hopgood will be a senior. There will be 6 backs on scholarship this coming year. 1 or 2 will probably be redshirted. 4 active running backs seems right.

We used, Samuel, Givens, Hopgood, and Pettigrew last year.

Anyone have any news on Kenderson Obas? Just looked on ESPN recruiting site and still shows him as undecided.

Obas is going to MTSU according to flipper.

Not sure if he signed with them though.

I know it may be unlikely, but there is still a chance that Samuel might return next year isn't there?

I would imagine Anthon is gone for good, hence the RB heavy class.

I listened to DC on the radio today at 4:00pm. He spoke about Samuel. He is enrolled in college down in Florida. He is taken classes that he could transfer back to BG if he so chooses too. DC said there is still a chance that Samuel could be back but right now he is attending classes down in Florida while concentrating on his wife and child.

Did I read this right? Joe Davidson, punter from Findlay HS, is 6'7?? Holy crap!! That's probably the tallest punter in the country and one of the tallest, if not the tallest, on our roster. Dude must have some long legs and a sick punt.

Edit. I just watched his video. Incredible distance on those punts. And the guys surrounding him in the highlights video were Coppet and Dieter. Coppet looks legit. If he develops as much as one would expect, he will be one of the best in BG history. Dieter set all kinds of HS records and I can see why. He'll be darn good for us.
MarkL has spoken.
