Travis Green looked really good. Made guys miss, ran over some people.

Tate banged one off the crossbar from 51. But with probably a 15-20 mph wind at his back.

Kendall Mongtomery looked really good for the orange. Obviously still pretty raw. I think he was credited with 2 sacks.

The QBs were ok, IMO.

Schilz hit 1 maybe 2 throws of more than 8 yards. He threw mostly dink and dunk stuff. Threw a few balls completely flat foot without stepping into it. Had a guy wide open on a 10 yard out, threw it 8 yards.

Johnson had a few nice scrambles and throws. Threw a good looking TD pass. Had a bunch batted down.

Knapke was ok. Had a receiver make a great catch on a deep ball to set up a score.

No one was spectacular. Johnson moved his team the best, but, that could be just because of how the teams were set up.

Defense made some plays and looked good. Run game looked good with Travis Green, Givens, and Hopgood looked good. Passing game was bleh.

Schmeidebush (sp?) shanked just about everyone of his chances.

There's really no analog to it, but the closest I can remember would be Andy Sahm, a tremendous leader and person who peaked earlier in his career.

At the very least Johnson proved that the competition is legitimate and he'll have a fighting chance in the fall. I can also see Schilz starting the first couple games and getting pulled if he's not getting it done.

I wouldn't say Sahm peaked. Harris was just too special of a player to not be starting.

Not saying I disagree with what anyone has said about Schilz, but it is worth mentioning that his receivers were Jared Cohen, Diontre Delk and the transfer that won't even be playing this year. This game honestly doesn't do anything for me because neither of the QB's were playing with the 1st team, or anything even close to the first team. I was at the game and thought the QB's were pretty even. We will see what happens in the fall. I'll hold my final judgement until I see all QB's with the first team in the fall scrimmages.

That's a good point...I DVR'd the game and haven't seen it yet, so I can't even comment on how anyone looked. The concern I have with Schilz is that he didn't go into the spring as the solid #1 and not being named a captain is a bit odd given his time here as the trigger man for the offense. It strikes me as being really odd that a 5th year QB from an eight win team isn't looked at as the guy from day one
