-A search firm (ahem, ahem) is thankfully being utilized: Collegiate Sports Associates run by Tood Turner. They have run the AD searches for Kent and Miami, two outstanding hires, and have done consulting work for the MAC.
-EMU is also looking for an AD, and while we're a better job in every respect, the candidate pool will probably be similar. They are doing it the old-fashioned way through HR so having industry professionals compiling the candidates on our side will be an advantage. There's still the dog-and-pony show search committee dance before Mazey, but the probability they'll screw it up is greatly minimized by having applicants recruited and screened by the firm.
-May 20 is the application deadline, so hopefully we'll hear some concrete names and find out who the finalists are shortly after. Someone to keep an eye on is Coastal Carolina AD Hunter Yurachek. He was at Akron during their facilities boom and seems to fit the profile of what we're looking for.
