Pretty nice, detailed write up about the upcoming season that really dove into the things that could go right or wrong for the Falcons this year by USA Today.

Great preview. I really like these previews, their styles, and information. Way ... way better than CFN who also does a day by day preview of every team.

Excellent preview...very in depth and reasons why the writer feels the way he does. #52 is a decent place to start but I feel we are Top 40 right now...
We have the potential for a HUGE year. Let's realize that potential and win the MAC.
Freakin eh...44 days to go. AY ZIG!!!!!!!!!!

Optimist: Last year was an anomoly offensively. The receivers were new which threw off the rhythm and timing of the passing game. That won't be the case this year. New weapons like Jermal Hosley will also be added to the mix. We had a great running back and the gameplans necessarily centered around controlling the clock, grinding it out and turning games into defensive struggles which we'd most likely win. The running game should still be strong and a staff that coached a Bilitinkoff finalist at BG will find a way to produce big plays in the passing game.
Pessimist: Schilz is irreparably damaged. He's shaky in the pocket and inaccurate, problems amplified by receivers who drop way too many balls. In an era characterized by explosive offensives we struggled at times to simply complete a pass and exceed 300 yards against inferior opponents. What does it say about the scheme and coaching when a third year starter produces such abysmal results? The defense will take a hit and continually going three and out and throwing interceptions (particulalry in the red zone) will only burden it further.

Red zone efficiency has been near the bottom of the rankings in just about the entire Clawson era. We have to improve greatly in this area.

I liked the analysis, but what the heck are the "top 5 ATLANTA FALCONS" coaches doing in this story...other than sharing a team name with us of course?

Glad I wasn't the only one shaking my head...
Otherwise, great write-up!

It's meant as an aside. Here's his list from #53 N.C. State:
ARBITRARY TOP FIVE LIST
— People whose first and last name start with D-
1. Donald Duck
2. Daffy Duck
3. Daniel Defoe
4. Danny DeVito
5. Dom DeLuise
Why the letter D? Their coach is Dave Doeren.
Not ROFL funny. But quirky funny.
FWIW, I think Paul Myerberg is one of the top college football writers around. Plus, he was really on the MAC's bandwagon last year.
