Jacobs set the MAC record with his 41st overall touchdown rushing or passing in the first quarter, adding four more. He also joined Roethlisberger and Leftwich as the league's only 4,000-yard passers.

Great comment RedHawk!! I'll bet several teams in the MAC have that attitude going into next season.

Omar has such a big future ahead of him. Its still hard to take in that this was his first year starting. Hopefully we can get another 2 years out of him.

Unbelievable debut year for Omarvelous. I keep thinking back to all the choch nuggets that said "Now that Harris is gone, what are you guys gonna do???"
Especially the CMU fans..."you guys are gonna suck without Harris". I simply said "One name for ya....Omar Jacobs".
TWO MORE YEARS>>>>>TWO MORE YEARS>>>>>TWO MORE YEARS!!

Two more seasons like this and he would have 12,000+ yards, 120+ TDS and only 12 ints. If that TD/Int ratio keeps up, it will be truely an amzing accomplishment. Not to say the other things would be too. Oh yeah and throw in some MACC games and he can even push those numbers higher.

Although the announcers were once again clueless, Omar not only broke the MAC record for total TD's in a season, but he also broke the NCAA record for TD passes by a sophomore which was held by Pennington with 39. Omar now as 41.

What makes his records all that much more impressive is that he did it in an 11 game (plus one) season. He broke Joshs school record for passing yards in a season with two fewer games. Also, many of those games, he didn't play the 4th quarter, and in a couple, he didn't play the second half.

I'd love to dredge up some of those old comments from the MAC board. I tried once, but couldn't find anything.
I kept quiet. I'm not surprised that Omar has been very, very good. I'm just surprised at how good.
