$10 game tickets and $5 food vouchers for the Tulsa game. At least we're catering to the local population that can easily help with ticket sales.

Awesome marketing campaign for local residents
ROLL ALONG!!!
Re: Awesome marketing campaign for local residents
This is great to hear!!
Our family has said this for years that BG needs to embrace the locals and give them some incentive to go to the games. It's hard enough competing against OSU, Michigan and Toledo for that matter based on where is BG is located. I wonder if this was Kingston's idea?

We have to reach out to new segments but it's a tricky situation.
You want to connect with previously disengaged/ignored groups and make it hard for them to say no to such a fantastic deal. At the same time, you don't want to water things down so much that it devalues the product with the perception of desparation and turn off the die-hards who don't need gimmicks to support the program.

I would say this isn't watering it down. It would be a devaluation if tickets were given out free to Wood County residents. However, they are just offering an opening day incentive to locals; if it's a good game, they may just come back and pay full price for the next game.mscarn wrote:We have to reach out to new segments but it's a tricky situation.

I agree. It's a good start. The loathesome species of local that would choose to bypass live, in-person Division IA football in favor of their television set are so deeply entrenched in their anti-MAC perceptions that a cheap hot dog and a few bucks off a ticket is still unlikely to rouse them.footballguy51 wrote: I would say this isn't watering it down. Good promo. Although, the picture for the flyer is a head scratcher.

Nice to see Kingston being the face of BG athletics. I know he was tweeting pictures from the Tractor Pulls. Hopefully it all translates to butts in seats.

Kingston and Jennifer Roos are twitter monsters...and coach Tomic isn't too far behind.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Seriously, the AD and coaches MUST connect to the community and beyond the city limits.

BEAT TULSA!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
