Heck......when I was in school, we had TWO backs in the 260# range! Stew Williams and Tom Luttke were quite a duo at RB. Luttke also played some defense if I remember correctly.

I recall commenting on Mr. Houston last year, as the only offer he had was from BG, yet chose to go to Columbus instead. If he's really 262 he's got a LOT of weight to lose as he was listed last year around 230 or so. But glad he "saw the light".

At 260 it doesn't sound like he's seen "light" in many years.

Reminds me a lot of a taller PJ Pope. Big body, quick burst off the line. I hope he becomes a runningback instead of a fullback for us. Between him and Greene and Coppet and the other freshmen we will have a very solid future there.
Edited for Android autocorrect fail.

Sounds like he could be a fun player to watch. Definitely not many skill players with that kind of size anymore. If it doesn't workout Falconboy says we can put him on the D line

I wouldn't consider him a serious prospect until he gets his weight back into the 230's. No matter if he thought he was walking on at OSU or moving on to another program, letting yourself get 30 pounds out of shape doesn't exactly show much work ethic.

262 is definitely too heavy and he needs to get in shape. I remember when we played at Wisky in 2005 and they had that FB blocking for their stud RB. He was listed at 270, and he followed the linemen at 320 on the sweeps the Badgers ran all day on us. On way play, he simply leveled Mike Thaler and it wasn't pretty. Chris Spielman about jumped out of his skin when the play happened on ESPN. But to Thaler's credit, he got right back up and back in the trenches.

Trayion Durham at Kent carved up the conference at 250 last year. Bulk is good. He complemented the speed of Archer and hopefully our guy will complement the speed of our Florida backs.
Running backs with exceptional size and/or speed measurables that fall outside the typical standard for the position seem to do quite well in the MAC.

Yea I would have to see how he moves and his build before I will say he is too heavy. Kind of excited for thus guy to see the field honestly.

Houston came from Dublin Scioto...was around 230 lbs in high school and not real fast. Kind of a "bull in a china shop" type runner. I think he would be a great FB/RB in short yardage situations, but still needs to lose weight with that frame. Having a power running game when needed (redzone) will be very helpful for this offense!

I have no idea if 260 is too heavy or even an accurate weight. I do think The Fat Kid is a heck of a nickname though (I think it was Harmon Killebrew's)

IF he moves like that Wisky FB, he ain't too heavy and I'll take back saying he is!
