College Football Stadium Quest

I thought I would toss this in here in case anyone is interested in college football stadiums like I am. As some of you may be aware, I am trying to visit every FBS stadium across the country and I am now at 112 of the current 126 that are out there. I put together a YouTube video with images of the ones I have been to with a nice little opening to the video tied to BG. Take a look if you want, even if only to see the BG part:

Interesting shots...I've been to quite a few college stadia, mostly to see the Falcons play...guess I'll have to start up my list to see how many I actually HAVE been to.... no way to catch you by the way. When the heck did you get the TIME to see all these places? Just the travel expenses alone would wipe out most folks I'd think... but it's still a neat idea.... got to sit down an make up my own list now.

This has been a work in progress for about 20 years now. It started out with road trips I made while in college so I got started that way. Then I worked as an SID for a school in the ACC for about a decade so that helped out a lot by seeing many schools through travel with work. Then it stemmed off of any sort of travel I made such as schools close to areas I would go on vacation to, or in areas near a wedding I attended, or just schools along the way in areas I was passing through. But I would say with the last 40 or so stadiums I have visited, I made pure trips to see them by picking a location to fly into, then I rent a car and hit the road from there. I have made several destination trips like using using cities such as Seattle, LA, New Orleans, Denver, Dallas, Atlanta and Boston as starting points. For example, this summer I flew to St. Louis, then drove in essentially a large circle and saw Missouri, Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska, Iowa State, Iowa and Minnesota. I also stopped and saw the Field of Dreams while out that way. I do research well in advance to make sure I see everything I want to see as I also go to games going on while I'm there (football, basketball or baseball), I also visit the basketball arenas of each school, historical sites or movie locations in the area, or just cool places along the way that I will be passing through. I stay each night in the city/town of the school I am visiting so I can also see the campus and town, while also finding a good local restaurant or bar. I basically just soak up the entire school and area and get a good taste of it for a day or two, then move on. I simply love it. Yes, it does get expensive. I budget for this by making a lot of other sacrifices, but I make it work and I have a very supportive family that is behind me trying to accomplish this. I plan to wrap everything up with Hawaii, I figured it would be a nice way to cap it all off.

Once Maryland and Rutgers join if he can manage to lose by double digits there, I will be impressed.
