Thaler comments--any idea what he means.

Post by orangeandbrown »

From Today's Blade...

--
"We started [the game] shaky; we kind of had 10 guys playing and one guy messing up," said Falcon defensive lineman Mike Thaler. "But in the second half we showed how we can play."

Any idea what that means?

Not exactly sure but i think it had to do with them giving up so many yards to Memphis running the ball and throwing the ball in the first half.

I think it means all but one person did their assignment and since that one guy was out of place or w.e they gave up a big play.

Makes sense to me since Memphis' four td's in the first half all were at least 30 yards. There were just some breakdowns on our part. Not surprising since Memphis definitely had some weapons and an excellent o-line. Not to single out anyone but Carswell bit on the play action on the first score and the Memphis qb hit the tight end.

I don't think Thaler was calling any individual out. He was just saying that on any particular play, it seemed like one guy might have missed an assignment. It could have been Carswell one play, or Piepkow, or Sayles or anyone, just not the same particular person every play.

Heck, even Keon got schooled on the one touchdown. Man I was hoping we was going to pick that one off!
