Just read that too. WTH.... Also read about the players who were suspended. I'm also wondering if we may have lost stating DE Charlie Walker. Saw him after the game with a large brace on his leg. At least what we saw on the field tonight was better than the stuff happening off of it.

Coach Durkin was arrested for OVI Saturday morning at 2:30 am. Followed that up by getting a 'driving with a suspended license' later Saturday morning (11:00 am) when he was involved in an injury accident in rural Wood County. The accident was not his fault.

He has to be fired.... No question about it. If he is going to blatantly disregard the law and drive while under suspension for an OVI , how in the hell is BG staff going to expect the players and others to respect his authority as a coach. He is extremely fortunate that his selfish act of driving under suspension didn't result in a fatality...

And they would definitely suspend or dismiss a player for doing such.. I like him as a person, but don't want a person of such character to be the leader of my players...

Sad way to lose your job at a state university and state employment .

Most importantly I hope he gets his drinking problem addressed for his own good and that of his friends and family.

Man...a 42 year-old guy driving around BG drunk at 2:30 in the morning? It would seem he has some...issues. Totally agree with oldballcoach....he needs to go. The new AD needs to set a tone about what will and won't fly at BGSU.

I'm not disagreeing with you Flipper or Oldballcoach, but I think the suspension is the right way to go until all the facts play out. Don't rush to judgement. I'm not defending Coach Durkin, but I do think he deserves some due process.

Agreed here...just really sucks he made these poor decisions.

He will get due process. But the termination will come at the end of the suspension. He can not be allowed to be associated with the program or BGSU as a coach from this point forward. Accountability is the issue here. He made a choice to drive illegally after his OVI arrest. That is a HUGE flaw of character.

To place your selfish needs over the other drivers upon the road. He would have been granted driving privileges to and from work if and when he petitioned during his court proceedings. If he is married or has a family he has now placed them in a uncomfortable and unfortunate position, risking your life and employment for no reason what so ever.

Again, I say he needs to get his alcohol and impaired judgment issues resolved first and foremost . At this point football should be an after thought until these LIFE choices are addressed.

Hope he seeks and gets the help he needs.
