All team goals still attainable

No question that everyone associated with the football program is disappointed in the performance at Indiana. That must surely include the coaching staff and players. BUT, this loss today did nothing to derail the goals of this team and program which is to win the East and ultimately win the MAC championship. This is a solid football team that's fun to watch. We have a leg up in the East division with a quality road win at Kent and a favorable remaining home schedule. This loss now goes in the rearview mirror and we focus on the task at hand-winning a MAC championship. I can't wait to watch the Falcons bounce back from this momentary setback.
Go Falcons...Roll Along!

Thanks for the "Like"Mark L! I
Prefer to use my negative comments in the men's basketball forum where they are truly deserved. Unlike the disaster that our basketball program is under the direction of Louis Orr, Dave Clawson has begun the process of building a solid program. Is it perfect yet? Nope, but it's clear we are light years ahead of where we were 5 years ago and I'm supporting this football program all the way. I hope the students, community and all fans choose to do the same.

The silver lining in all of this was that it wasn't a MAC loss. Hopefully the injuries were minor.

Sure Globe. If those are your expectations for this program...well, you'll probably never be a fan. Only 1-2 teams, maybe none go undefeated in a given season, and only 10 make BCS games...only 1 from the MAC ever has.
Would you look at the men's basketball program the same way? By that metric they would need to be like, 27-4, ranked, and reaching the Sweet 16 or Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament. You can take a flying leap off the Grand Canyon because that'll never happen.
People should be upset at our performance today, because we sucked. But ultimately this game doesn't mean anything as far as reaching the MAC Championship is concerned. Honestly, if your biggest concern is becoming ranked at some point this season, there's still time to do that too though I'm not suggesting we will. Time heals all wounds.

What game did Northern Illinois play in last year?
What was Ball States record a few years back?

Did either BSU or NIU set season goals as going 12-0 or to the Orange Bowl? Or did they set their goals as winning the MAC? I bet the latter.

Never been done by a MAC program...if your
expectation is to do something no one else in your conference has done...hell comparatively few teams in the history of college football has done...if that is what you
expect to do...you aren't being realistic.

Wow...you linked to Ball State....they weren't undefeated...they didn't play in a BCS game and they weren't ranked in the final poll. Near as I can tell...we're right on schedule to match that

This is a very weird argument. I feel like you are just arguing to argue at this point. I assume most teams want to go undefeated and go to a BCS bowl. That should be Every teams goal. I think that anything lower then that is just admitting you don't belong amongst the best teams. Why play if your goal is less then that?

They were undefeated. I think you are a bit confused here.
