Don't look now, but Buffalo just passed us

BG and UB are now tied at 3-0 in the East. Buffalo throttled UMass 32-3 today and has now won five games in a row, and Ohio improved to 2-1 with a 56-28 win at EMU. We control our own destiny but we can't slip up. Every game here on out is a "MAC Championship."

Buffalo looks more impressive each week. 16 starters back this yr and Phil Steele had them as a darkhorse in the East.
Gotta take it one game at a time...
BEAT UT

I agree that Buffalo has Been impressive so far. But let's not lose sight of the fact that UB has been beating up on the dregs of the Mac the last few weeks. Their three Mac victories have been against wmu, emu, and umass, all of whom are horrible. Now we haven't beaten anybody great either with Akron, umass, and kent (who has been a HUGE disappointment IMO), but let's not pretend that Buffalo has done anything we haven't to this point.
Looking at UB's remaining schedule, 4 of the remaining 5 teams are common opponents with BG. Theres all to play for, and this game at Ralph Wilson stadium at the end could well be decisive.

True their wins have been over poor teams but they've been blowing them out. Their schedule does get much tougher in the last 5 weeks. Next week UB plays Kent State...would be a great time for Kent State to play better than they have. Lol

And one of those last 5 is @ the glassblow.......does this mean I "have" to root for the sprockets?

No, we root for Buffalo to lose.

Buffalo's game this week vs. Kent will go a long way to figuring out who will have the leg up after this week. Might be a difficult game for them against a Kent team who was embarrassed on the road Saturday.

If Reardon misses his 2nd straight game, I think Buffalo wins pretty easily.

Just win, BG, and everything takes care of itself.

Exactly. Unlike the school down south, if we win out, we control our destiny.

I agree. If Reardon plays, I think it'll be close. Nix is also battling an injury on their DL. Getting lost in their poor record this year is the impact Archer is having. He's had a 100-yard KOR TD and a 66-yard TD reception vs NIU, a TD reception vs Ball State, and last week had a 74-yard TD run and 73-yard TD reception at South Alabama (all those games were in the last three weeks following his return to the team shortly before). That dude just has a completely different gear and when he gets in space, it's over, and we learned all too well last year. I was not sad one bit he couldn't play against us this year.

True. But it's always great to get help along the way too should you need it. We've seen teams like Akron win the East with three losses getting everything to break their way in the final week to get to the MACC (which they won). Past history has shown we usually get tripped up in the MAC by someone, even when we were loaded and ranked a decade ago. I would love nothing more than to win out and remove all doubts, but I also enjoy any help we can get whether we need it or not in the end.

the school down south.
At first I thought you were talking about Miami (OH). I was wondering what destiny they could possibly hope to have at this point.
Speaking of Miami, Dave Clawson has fared well against them in his tenure. It's Toledo that he hasn't been able to beat. That's got to change this weekend.
