I hate any loss no matter who it is against, but the manner in which we lost today stings big time because we served this win for UT on a big, fat, orange and brown platter. If they came out and stomped us 35-10, so be it. But we made critical and costly mistakes all game long while Toledo simply executed. The dropped pass inside their 5 by Burbrink on the opening drive on 4th down; the penalty that took their FG off the board and allowed them to score another TD; the TD we had overturned by replay, then followed it up with a false start on 4th down inside the one to have to settle for a FG; allowing UT to score the game-winning TD after facing 3rd and 26 gouging us with a 17-yard run then a TD on the next play; the drop by Joplin on a pass that was right in his hands and looked as though he could have scored; spotting them a 21-point lead, etc.
We BLEW this game! And Toledo out-executed us. They played tough, and, more importantly, smart football, and we did not. We shot ourselves in the foot and they capitalized on all of our mistakes. BG woulda/coulda/shoulda won but Toledo deserved to win and did.
It's not that we lost, but how we lost, that was the killer

Sounds like a coaching problem to me, and seems to be a constant problem under this Dave Clawson led program. Maybe he needs to catch the Orr train. But I have a good feeling about next year. We'll definately be awesome and will win the MAC and our tough out of conference games.BGSU33 wrote:I hate any loss no matter who it is against, but the manner in which we lost today stings big time because we served this win for UT on a big, fat, orange and brown platter.
