I'll be home for Christmas....19 1/2 hours later

Post by pardonfan »

What a long and exausting trip home. After the rainy game, we left at 6 am Mobile time (7 here) and got home to bg at 1 am on the nose. I then had a half hour venture in cleaning off my car and then an hour drive to my home-home. 2:30 is when I walked in. Our only stops were for gas and one McDs dinner. Way too long to be in a car. It was a 12 hour drive home from Nashville!!!!(normal 7 hour drive) Kentucky doesn't take care of their roads well! It took us around 3 1/2 hours to get from 60 miles south of Lousville to I 71 in Louisville..Dayton was bad too...but we eventually made it home safe. It was all worth it. What a great win and a fun experience. I hope everyone has a great Christmas. GO FALCONS!

Sounds like fun but it would all be worth it to see them win the GMAC

When I was in my 20's, I would've been up for a trip like that. As a married 43 year-old with one kid, I'm glad I didn't chance it.

Just be happy you didn't stay on I-65 into Southern Indiana. It took me 6 hours to go about 30 miles until I reached the point that 65 was closed and I turned around and headed back to downtown Louisville to a Comfort Inn to spend the night. I got to my house in Indy at about 2:00 PM tonday (Friday). What a miserable trip home. Took me about 7 hours just today from Louisville.

The trip would have been 100x worse had BG lost!

If I did it, all of you "youngsters" can too!!!! Took us about 17 hours home and 13-14 on the way down. Kentucky roads are horrible, as stated above. They don't even try!! All in all, not a bad trip, so all of you need to plan on going next year!! We actually returned home before one of our party that flew from Dayton to New Orleans!!!
You KNOW we will be GMAC Bowl's first pick in 2005!!!!!!!!!

we left Mobile at 10 a.m. Made it to Cinci at 11:45 p.m.

12 1/2 hours later. not too bad. I am glad for my 4WD Jeep. The worst part was Cinci to Columbus today.

I think leaving a little later made a difference. We passed the band buses about 3 hours into the trip, and they left at 8.

what a great time in Mobile!

Pictures will be posted soon, and my TIVO/Directv worked perfectly. Lots of great coverage on ESPN news following the game as well as some home video I shot. I will start work on the DVD's after the holidays.

Merry Christmas Falcons!

Back home now got home last night around 4am but wow what a game great times that was awesome, didn't think i would have that much fun. I hope everyone else made it back safe and in time for christmas.

Our Trip Home Sounds Like Everyone Else's!

Post by BGSU99 »

We left Mobile at around 1:30 Thursday after eating lunch at Logan's Roadhouse not far from the Mobile Marriott on Airport Road. We arrived here in Marion at around 11:30 am Friday. That included some pit stops and a two-hour delay on I-65 for a jack-knifed semi. As many of you have said, though, it was worth it to be there in person and watch our Falcons win! Needless to say, the trip down didn't take anywhere near as long as that trip back. Seems our neighbors to the south in Kentucky aren't used to getting snow, nor are they used to driving in it.
