Lol, really? Not even an ESPN network? Unbelievable.

Let's just get as many as we can in the seats then. I know it's tough for many including myself from far way to be there, but it's a huge game, senior night, our last home game, etc. We need our students in full force too. Ohio has beaten us three straight times at the Doyt and in our last game at home Toledo ripped our hearts out. We need to win this home finale.

Why schedule this game for a Tuesday if not automatically scheduled to be aired on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU? Almost all BG games at least make it on ESPN3 no matter when they are played.

Apparently it was between us and Buffalo/Toledo and they got the call. Disgraceful. ESPNU should be the fallback, not the lone option.

Our prostration to ESPN has reached a new nadir.

This is a great point and one someone should send to the AD/MAC commish to answer.

What is the point if it is not on "TV"? I've watched all the BG games I couldn't attend on ESPN3/WatchESPN. Every single one the last 2 years. .

I realize they want the option of the better matchup, but you are completely screwing over 2 teams and their fanbases. Not everyone has ESPN3 and those games do not have the 'national spotlight'.

Agreed. This is STUPID!!! We're playing on Tuesday night for an internet audience??? What BS. I know it can't and won't happen, but the two schools should move the game to Saturday the 16th. What a joke.

Honestly guys, Im surprised we get (the MAC) as much tv time as we do. Wouldn't be surprised at all if it will come to an end soon. Face it, beyond people like us there is not a lot of interest. I would speculate those that enjoy gambling watch weekday football, but not so many others.

Only if the P5 conferences decide to move to Tuesday or Wednesday night games, which they won't because it means less gate receipts for them. ESPN needs something to fill up three hours of airtime in November, and the MAC is it. Will things be different in five years? Maybe. If so, the MAC can just as easily call up FOX Sports 1 or CBS Sports and ask them if they're interested in airing some football on a Tuesday night. As long as the MAC has teams like NIU doing something, they'll be wanted by ESPN simply for talking points.

And some people wonder why attendance is down in the MAC, for the most part.

Scheduling these off weekend games so you can attract a TV audience eliminates most of the out of town folks from making the trip to the game, if it makes it too difficult to make the round trip and then have everyone fresh for work or school the next morning.

So you're cutting down on at least some of the butts-in-the-seats audience to get national exposure -- and then ESPN screws you over by doing this.

If I'm the MAC, I take a long, hard look at the contract with ESPN and see if the game can be moved back to Saturday without penalty. If it's even borderline, I do it -- just to make a point.

There is nothing gained by either school when you disrupt the schedule for weeknight games and then turn around and don't show them on a network available to virtually everyone in their living room.

One of the reasons students do like to turn out for these weeknight games (if they turn out at all) is to see if they can get their faces on TV while they showcase their university.

This move by ESPN defeats that as well.

Oh and that quote from BG is totally LAME. trying to put some "exclusively" spin on it, like this is an honor or something. You got totally DISSED, guys. Don't bother hyping ESPN3's garbage for them when they just got done screwing you over.

I swear, sometimes our athletic department has no brains and no balls.

The game can't be moved since Ohio plays Kent St. on the 19th. It is what it is, sadly. If the MAC accepts being treated like a third rate product because of ESPN's dollars, then I'll expect more of the same in the coming years.
