49-28 Miami. That was the score as the Louisville Cardinals and Miami Redhawks left the field after the 2003 GMAC Bowl. Since that time, the Cards have been more than respectable. Miami on the other hand has done very little to excite fans and alum.

Miami can't sustain anything.

They won the East in 04 and went to a bowl game, in 07 they won the East, 2010 they won the MAC and a bowl game.

However, their bad years have been really bad. 2-10 in '06, 2-10 in '08, 1-11 in '09, 4-8 in '11, 4-8 in '12, unless they beat Kent they are going to go 0-12 this year.

Next year, they better beat Eastern Kentucky because if they don't they are going to start 0-4, again (Marshall, @ Michigan, @ UC).

How odd is their stretch from '06 through '13? 2, 2 win seasons, 2 MAC East titles, 1 MAC title, a bowl win, a 1 win season, a pair of 4 win seasons, and more than likely an 0'fer. They are the Marlins of the MAC.

If it wasn't for that 2010 Miami team, NIU would have 3 straight MAC titles, going for 4 this year.

Hopefully they hire the right coach. The MAC is more fun when Miami is good.

By comparison, from 2006 through 2013, BGSU has a 2 win season, a 4 win season, a 6 win season, a 7 win season, two 8 win seasons, and another between 7-10 wins. No MAC titles, No East Division titles, 3 bowl appearances but no wins.

Whose resume would you rather have? Would you rather have the 3 trips to Detroit and the 1 MAC title but have to endure 5 horrible seasons in between? I think its an interesting question because a lot of AZZers would probably opt for Miami's resume over ours, even though our total win/loss record is way better.

There isn't one program in the MAC like them, going from absolute desolation to a MAC title in no time. Very perplexing.

Give me 1 MAC title and I'd put up with 5 horrible seasons.
