Not much else to say, surprised it took this long. First time maybe ever BG will face two interim coaches in one season.

Jeff "Jersey Burning" Genyk and now Ron English, the poor coach who (no kidding) offered to jump out of a plane if people donated 60,000 to fix the bathrooms.
A long parade of high school JV coaches are sure to want this job.

Former BSU front man Stan Parrish to take over.

Stan Parish has been around for a long time...and is a pretty good coach... goes back to his days as a HS coach in the Cleve. area. (Parma HS if I recall correctly)...he COULD be a boost for that team which HAS given us problems in the past, even when we were supposed to be better.
But let's get OU first, then worry about EMU.

BGSU's all time record against Eastern Michigan is 24-11-1. That's about 1 EMU win for every 3 contests. More recently, BG beat EMU in 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2012...EMU beat us in 2008, the infamous jersey burning game.
Here's our all time MAC records by team:
Akron - 13-7 - 65%
Ball State - 20-8 - 58.3%
Buffalo - 7-3 - 70%
Central Michigan - 22-18 - 55%
Eastern Michigan - 24-11-1 - 68.5%
Kent State - 56-19-6 - 74.6%
Miami - 23-42-5 - 35.3%
Northern Illinois - 10-7 - 58.8%
Ohio - 37-25-2 - 59.6%
Toledo - 39-35-4 - 52.7%
Western Michigan - 31-17-3 - 64.5%
Over the years we've beaten EMU at a higher clip than every team in the MAC, with the exception of Buffalo and Kent State, and we've beaten them more than our historical rate within the past 7 years. Not exactly the hallmark of a challenging or dangerous opponent.

So Stan Parrish takes over as interim. Interesting. He was awful at BSU and KSU but at Marshall he is legendary. The first guy to have a winning season after the plane crash. Not gonna lie when I say he's got a chance there. Seeing as they will have a hard time getting a decent HC to come in, if I were the AD I'd consider Parrish a serious candidate to be the HC.

I recall when the MAC was going to throw EMU out of the league.

English had that 6-6 season to start an I thought he would get some things done at EMU. It went downhill after that.

He should have known better taking on the uphill battle they will always have.

There are certain jobs in college football that will get you fired.
Darrell Hazell is learning that Purdue is one of them. Tim Beckman will soon learn that Illinois is another.
Eastern Michigan is basically that for the MAC. Ditto for Akron. Ball State and Northern Illinois used to be before they turned things around in the middle of last decade.

I think you misunderstood my comment re: EMU... My point was they've given us some hard times, whether we won the games or not. They seemed to point for us; either that or we took them too lightly. Either way, it's no big deal.

Oh, I see. You are correct when you say that the wins haven't exactly come easy. We did blow them out 24-3 last year, but we won 24-21 in 2006, 38-30 in 2007, and the exact score in 2009 skips my memory but I think that was fairly close as well.
I'm sure they'll put up more of a fight than Miami did the other night, that being said I don't expect our game with them to be close in the 4th quarter. If it is, then shame on us.

We didn't play them in 2009. We play them between Ohio and UB. Seems like the kind of game where Admiral Ackbar could make an appearance.
