Falconfreak90 checking out for a while...

Hey all,

Well, my poor decision making skills have taken another hit. Some of you may remember my dui back in Sept 2009 after the home opener vs Troy. As much as I hate to say it, Tuesday night it happened again. I thought I was in control after the game when Jake and I left the Doyt. I was pulled over again after speeding in Ashland county and guess what? I get to go through all this s**t again because of my stupidity. Mrs. Freak is very upset with me, which she should be, and my boys...wow, what a great role model I am to them. Needless to say I won't be coming back to the Doyt for a while...maybe not at all next season. I won't be back in BG for anything for the next 12 months. I caused tremendous pain and disappointment for my family and the only thing I can do is take it one day at a time and hope for the best. I love you all as you are the best fans anywhere! Perhaps my obsession with Falcon Football has caused me to lose perspective in life of what is really the most important...my family.

I won't be at EMU, UB or the MACC. I may not be at any games next season, either. The best thing for me to do is just clean up my act and build the trust of my best friend, who I've completely let down again. I am so ashamed of my decision making. I hope this helps one person when tailgating. Even if you feel you are good to go, perhaps you aren't. I get so caught up in the spirit of being a fan, being part of an awesome tailgate group, the game, the team. Well, now I will be paying a heavy price for a while. I will have to follow my beloved Falcons from a distance for the next few months and, when I really think about it, is probably best.

Thanks to all for your friendships over the years...I hope to see you all soon.

Man, that sucks Freak. Family is more important than anything else in life, so I hope you can overcome this speed bump and once again have Falcon football as a part of your life. We're all here for support if you shall need it.

Sorry, man. That sucks.

The good thing is that no one has been physically injured. You're strong enough to get through this and looks like you've got your priorities lined up.

Falcon football will be there when you're ready to return. . .

Mike,
I can't begin to express how disappointed I was to hear this news...Guess it all boils down to why I've chosen not to drink alcohol as I've had a few friends and my kid's friends who've been busted for similar offenses.
Hopefully, you know that I speak for most of us when we say that you will be missed...you've been the "heart and soul" of our group in many ways....THE most fanatical of all of us re: BGSU.
May this experience strenghten you in your resolve to get back to both your family and your "falcon family" too. [-o<

Thanks all...I can't tell how much I appreciate my friends and family.

I have two tix to the BG-UB game at Bills Stadium I won't be using. PM if you want them and I'll mail them to you.

God bless and GO FALCONS.

Hey Mike, so sorry to hear what happened, god knows it could have happened to me many times. It was so hard to read your post because it brought back some great memories of my father, who idolized you by the way, with you at the Doyt. Your right, sometimes it is so easy to get caught up in all the fun you lose your sense of reality. My mother wanted me to make sure that you know that you and your family are in her thoughts and prayers as my family as well. You will get through this "Little Suzi" -dave jr.
