Have to stop JL. He already has rushed for 240 yards and 2 TD in the 1st half.

It's amazing to see to see how a talented, experienced quarterback makes so much of a difference at the college level. Northern Illinois is simply a good to average MAC team without Jordan Lynch. With him, they have been able to reach heights no MAC teams have ever or seldom reached.

Our linebackers will be challenged to stop his read option runs if we get to Detroit. Obviously, we'd rather have him try and beat us through the air than with his legs.

NIU was down TommyLee Lewis and Ja'Ron Brown barely took any snaps. Those two are healthy and their passing game is infinitely better. They should be ready to go for the MAC Championship so if BG makes it, they will have their hands full. The only lose 4 players on offense next year, one of them Lynch, but I suspect they'll still be one of if not the top team once again in the MAC.

The MAC is about so much more than one team and one player. They had their shot last year, failed, played a weak non conference schedule and are back again hoping everyone has amnesia.

Steinbrecher gave an interview to Tim Brando today that went beyond the expected advocacy a commisioner should provide to teams in their conference. He openly expressed hope that NIU holds serve and wins out. The only problem is two teams named Bowling Green and Buffalo who deserve a level playing field and a conference that is not actively rooting for them to lose. It's monumentally unfair to send this wink-wink message to referees who, as we have seen, hold the power to influence games.

I'm going to have to disagree with you here. Although it just so happened that Idaho and Purdue suck something awful this year, scheduling two Big Ten teams in a season isn't what I would call a weak non-conference in terms of a MAC school. It makes sense that the commissioner would want NIU to win out for financial reasons (although saying it out loud may not have been the greatest choice...didn't see the interview though). I am obviously rooting for BG to kick ass in the next two weeks, but I also think that both NIU and Lynch deserve all of the attention they're receiving.

We'll have to agree to disagree. At some point, though, NIU needs to put up or shut up. If they're as good as they think they are then play Ohio State. Play LSU. Play a top-tier, name opponent. Until then the Florida State game continues to be the referendum on them and it ain't pretty: 15/41 passing, 23 rushes for 44 yards (1.9 average) and a 18.2 rating for the golden boy.

You're definitely right about them not showing up last year, and I think that is what people will remember about them. Personally I'd rather it be put to rest at the hands of a BG loss, but IF they make it to a BCS bowl this year, I'm very curious as to how the team handles things the second time around. With all of the other stuff, agree to disagree we will.

They have been the best team in the MAC, period. Until we or someone else beat them we have little room to talk. Especially with our track record against BCS opponents since 2009. Yeah Florida State kicked their butt. We got our asses kicked worse by teams not even half as good the last 2 years (VT, Indiana). To say they didn't belong is asinine. They were awarded the bowl game based on the rules that we currently have. BG (hopefully) has an opportunity to keep that from happening again.

Lynch is amazing. NIU is very good. NIU wasn't good enough last yearto hang with FSU past the fourth quarter but there were worse BCS blowouts. Can't see tthe Dogs losing before their bowl game.

Depends who they play. They can't match up against a speed team as Florida State proved.

I feel like if you put constant pressure on Lynch you can not shut him down but slow him down. He ran wild over WMU, but his passing was pretty bad. WMU doesn't have the defensive talent we have. I do believe he can be slowed down enough to allow our offense to outscore the NIU offense. I believe that's the way you do it ...

Again, you guys are "jumping the gun" re: playing NIU....let's worry about Buffalo FIRST...then if we get by that obstacle, we can worry about Jordan Lynch and Co.

If you look at Buffalo's LOSSES this year, they've lost to.... OSU, BAYLOR (big time) and UT...not exactly a bunch of patsies...our losses to Indiana, Miss. St., and UT don't Match up with their losses IMO.... BUT I'm hoping, as are most of you, that we can continue the play we've seen since the 2nd half of the UT game... GO FALCONS!!!!! \:D/

An their wins are against Stony Brook (in 5 OTs), Connecticut, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Massachusetts, Kent state, Ohio and Miami. Those eight teams have 20 wins TOTAL for the season...for an average of 2.5 wins per team....not exactly a bunch of world beaters. I realize its basically the same group we've beaten. But that's my point...comparing wins adn loses won't mean anything tommorrow.

This is a fan board...not a actual team meting. We can look as far ahead as we want. It has NO IMPACT on the actual game.

Go Falcons!

Yeah...we're not playing...we can look ahead all the way to next year's UT game and it will have no bearing on what happens against UB. :)
