Give me Josh Harris...now!!!

Post by pardonfan »

McCown still thinks he is in the WAC. He just threw an INT. He continues to throw off his back foot, throw balls up for grabs, as well as running away from defenders instead of stepping up in the pocket. I know he has no talent around him, but these things are fundamental things that would help him. He has had 4 weeks to make these improvments and he hasnt dont it. Give Harris a shot!!!!!

I am at the airport in Detroit watching for my flight on a plasma screen and I when he threw out that int I yelled out, "Put in Harris!" I got a few strange looks.... :) Serously though...that was a pretty ugly INT.

not bad at all.....I think that throw pretty much guarantees that we won't see #7 unless Luke is broken in half by Jason Taylor.

I was so hoping that ball was going to be picked off. ::Grin:: I'm not a Browns fan to begin with, so all I really want to get out of watching this game is to see Harris play...that and I really don't have anything better to do with being stuck in the airport!

It's really hard to be a Browns fan about right now.....

McCown throws horrible INT....
Dolphins play hot potato.......
Browns recover......
Dawson hits upright......

When is the draft again???April seems too long to wait.....

I wish that they would just give Harris a chance. Anybody can do better that McCown.

GO STEELERS 13-1 and not slowing down.

I couldn't help but laugh at this. That had to be the oddest series I've ever seen in a football game. And that game had to be the worst offensive football display I have EVER seen! Absolutely terrible

Buffalo game was MUCH worse. And Suggs broke Jim Brown's 45 yea old record for rushing attempts in a game. So at least they figured out that having McCown drop back and throw is not going to work.

I've got a sneaking suspicion that you're going to see a member of the Ravens personnel department making personnel decisions for the Browns by the time the draft rolls around. I feel a lot more comfortable in their ability to make use of that pick :)

Josh will have every chance to fight for the starting job next season. Right now I see no reason to let him get killed. I was kinda hoping we'd see him last night, but McCown made one fantastic throw. One of those plays that makes you say, "wow, this kid could be good" He backed that up with 3 1/2 quarters of really bad football. I really don't think you'll see Harris out there any time this year, and that's a good thing. This isn't back yard football. He's been on the team 3 weeks now. You cannot learn enough of an NFL offense to make anything good happen in 3 weeks during the season.

If they put Josh in he'll be out there with about 10 plays at his disposal, and you can bet your butt that the defense will realize that VERY quickly. It would only serve to make him look worse than he really is. It would be no favor to him to be put into the final game.

After that one TD throw to Northcutt, McCown looked like he was throwing loafs of bread 10 yards. I watched every minute hoping to see Harris.

My true hope is that Garcia is not on the team next year and Josh takes over #5. For Christmas I received an authentic Orange Garcia jersey. I will of course remove the name.

As opposed to that vast offense they had McCown running last night.

I wanted to reach through the screen and smack Joe Theismann on numerous occasions, one of which was using his little computer graphics to diagram the TD to Northcutt. "He threw it high enough to get it in between three Miami defenders." No, it just happened to come down between three defenders, I think a guy that left the nacho stand in the upperdeck almost came down and made a play on that thing.

Hey, I don't know what the hell kinda crap the Browns are trying to put out there as an offense nowadays, but I do know that putting J5 out there is not the answer. I cannot imagine that a guy that's been there for 3 weeks is going to be better prepared to run an NFL offense (if that's what you wanna call it) than the guy who's been there since before training camp.

Putting Josh in there with a VERY limited playbook at his disposal behind an outmanned OL, with a group of guys who have pretty much given up on the season is setting him up for failure. I want J5 to play as much as anyone. I cursed as much as anyone when he was drafted by the Browns, and you can bet your ass I want him to lead them to 15 super bowls by the time he retires. But I DON'T want to see him out there right now, being set up for failure.

The likelihood of him having any kind of success by playing in the final game of the season is pretty slim. It's much more likely that he'll flounder as bad or worse than McCown has, or he could get hurt. I want him to have the entire offseason under the new Coaching staff, whoever that may be, and learn the offense. Then he can battle in training camp for the starting job next season. That is what is best for both him & the team.
